No place in society for people of his ilk. Too costly to the country in jail
Let him swing by the neck |

if i left a bus to go from the yard unsafe and it caused a death id be jailed/ fined/ sued the lot, its about time some of these judges got done for their sentencing , this bastard was unsafe to be on the streets , held and threatened a driver with a blade, why wasnt he jailed for 5 years

Ewan Ireland - no prizes for guessing where his grandparents originate from. Seems a familiar pattern.
By:
Definitely the grandparents are to blame. They should be strung up too.

The person directly to blame for this murder is the judge who failed to lock Ireland up last time he was in the dock, or the dozen times before that.

The whole system is deliberately geared to allow these types to stay out of jail and every allowance and proviso is made to justify it.
Have mentioned on here a handful of times about a family member who's been arrested 100s of times in fact they stopped arresting him and all they do is remove him from the situation like a taxi sevice. 'These included an incident where he grabbed a knife during a family argument' This is the norm for such types and has happened a few times usually against his mother who's ill but he does it to steal her money, these are usually waster drug addicts doing everything they can not to work and get their lives paid for. The system has decided that it's cheaper on the whole to pay for these people's lives and try to keep them sweet out of jail, than to keep them in jail where they aren't a danger to everyone else and given some sort of actual punishment for their crimes. |

What a post Denzil and I quite agree with you except I'd probably go further and have multi convicted criminals euthanized by the State.

the latest for these thugs my area now is claiming mental health problems, so they do a few days in hospital and come out driving brand new disibility cars

The Police are Powerless They had enough powers and used them well to nail this vermin, but the Judges have allowed him to walk among us when he is too dangerous to do so. |

like i say about time judges, etc are held accountable for not giving realistic sentances etc, it is an offence to carry weapon, there is a maximum 1 year for carrying a knife, this bloke had a blade and threatened a bus driver ., CARRY A KNIFE AND THREATENING WITH IT SHOULD BE MIN 5 YEARS,
By:

By:
I totally agree with elisjohn as well, anyone caught in possession of a knife should get a mandatory 5 year custodial, it's intent. A repeat offender then I would throw away the key. I live not that far from King's College Hopsital in Denmark Hill, Camberwell, South London. My mate is a nurse that works in A&E, she says it's like a war zone in there with people coming in non stop with stab wounds.

The Barristers as well as the judges are to blame, they want these kids to keep getting let off so they can defend them again and again, all paid for by legal aid, if they were all locked up, they wouldn't earn as much, they don't give a fuu ck about victims.
By:
im not sure but i think it is 5 years with a gun, its about time that knife should be classed exactly the same
By:
I do not know why people carry a knife esp young kids - in other countries they do not. Personally, I'd introduce corporal punishment eg flogging if caught carrying a knife on more than one occasion. But, the concerned and related entities would bleat like little kids all the way to the House of Commons similar to those subject to stop-and-search.
In the interest of safety for every one this is one inconvenience worth paying, I firmly believe. |
By:
They carry weapons because everybody else does,in certain gangland areas it's guns/swords/knives and the numbers will be close tom 100%.

how can we ever tackle crime when government thinks making some do 2/3rds of their sentence is being tough on crime
By:
ok a lot will not agree here, but look on this bloke record and probably never seen inside of a jail before even though his record, and will prob be out in 8 years or so after this, compare this to adam johnson the footballer, had a bit of hanky panky with a 15 yearold girl quite willing, and yet sentenced to 6 years.
By:
It's apples and oranges imo. I know what you're trying to say within the 'context' of the consequences.
By:
GAZO, it's not 2/3rds. If you get say a 2 year custodial, you will be out in 6 months and then 6 months tagged.
By:
knives are used for 2 reasons
they're easy to get hold of those that use them can't fight; a cowards weapon |
By:
i read somewhere that fair play, his dad took him to the police when he was 13 to try and sort him out, so not everytime we can blame the parents
By:
at the tory conference this week they said they want certain criminals to do a minimum 2/3rds of their sentence
By:
Perhaps the judge that granted him bail to let him loose on the streets should be named and shamed or even struck off for failing to protect the public ? After all these people can over rule Governments no so have to become accountable.
By:
in a lot of these crimes the thugs do not carry the knife , several knifes are hidden in the areas and near to hand ,when searched by police 9 times out of 10 they have no knives on them.

Interesting point FOYLES as it's easy to forget that these kids aren't all Forrest Gump they know how to play the game.

Some consider a kudo going to prison - a graduation even. For the hardcore make the time at HMP(pleasure) a tough one not a walk-in-the-park (it's) eg no mortgage/rent to pay/on-hand catering/laundry, etc; start by taking away the bed/mattress; 50 to a hall (not individual room); chained 24/7. Unless we take away their dignity unlikely they will learn.

I go to Newcastle every year to see Palace at St James's Park, it is not really a pleasant city. Always underlying angst, for want of a better adjective.
By:
A few years ago I got into Northumberland history from an old book which included Tyne and Wear as Northumberland and travelled all over the county ver the next couple of years barring the place with the most history Newcastle,I despise the city centre and I'm at pains to go so won't be sticking up for it.
Can't imagine it being worse or better than any other as there's plenty who work/go out there spending alot of time and money, many years ago I worked in the building at the end of the Tyne bridge but if it was now and I needed a job I wouldn't think of applying to work anywhere near the city centre. |

newcastle recently voted most friendly city in uk
slippy you told us you stay in gateshead, not newcastle, slap bang in middle of one of the roughest streets, ..some serious blokes there, and i reckon you wont have had an issue. i lived in newcastle for years but moved to durham where folk i reckon are less friendly but its a nicer place to live. newcastle city centre is a dump these days, but folk are usually friendly. |

Don't go out as Much these days the Smoking Ban Put me off ,And the need to be in a boozer faded with that ,Been up here on and Off 12 years , Never see much trouble Most of kids I see are Decent school uniform types ... Some rough areas but they are what they are , Old people still out and about Infact Old people in the North East are Looked After , Its all family up here not too many move away if they can help it , Bit like the Old days in London ... There is an underlying Drug Problem but where is there not ? ![]() |

Some rough areas but they are what they are , Old people still out and about Infact Old people in the North East are Looked
After , Its all family up here not too many move away if they can help it , True you don't hear of crimes like robbing old people or vulnerable types at night and the likes away from the city centre. The last few years I've gone out and about at night and don't think twice about it round the doors or down to the river up and down the tracks in the black dark,it's possible that some of the drug issues are keeping the lunatics off the streets at these times they're all off their t!ts inside. Lately have been hearing about knife crime and the likes slipping into the Newcastle street areas and used to regualarly see gangs of mid teen kids hanging about in the Westerhope area around Morrisons car park with the neck scarfs over their faces like the bruvvaz, hopefully the epidemic doesn't go full tilt up here ![]() |
