I like both of them, Trilby, and both Pierce and Ferrari. I loved the latter and Boris Johnson on 'Ask Boris' when Johnson was Mayor of London:

Not overly keen on Ferrari either. A touch pompous and takes himself a bit seriously, imo. Get's on my tits when he says, "Good morning" after he's asked a new caller the question

. Nigel Farage has reportedly said he would strike an election pact with the Tories if his Brexit Party was given a free run in up to 90 parliamentary seats. The former Ukip leader is understood to have told Number 10 he would then, in return, not field any candidates against sitting Conservative MPs or target seats for the Tory party. Mr Farage’s offer, which would include a free shot at 80 to 90 seats, was passed to Prime Minister Boris Johnson by senior figures in the Conservative party, the Sun reported. The hardline Brexiteer is thought to have made clear he wants to go for Labour seats where Ukip has previously had some success, such as in the Midlands and the North East. A source close to Mr Farage told The Sun: “Nigel has had some conversations with people who are very close to Boris, not MPs or ministers to keep them discreet. “They’re more to scope out whether he’s serious about a deal than actual negotiations, and the Tories know appreciate he is. It is a beginning”. They added: “It’s very simple, it’s all about the numbers. Boris knows he cannot win a majority without our help”. Farage on Tuesday signalled that his Brexit Party would be prepared to make a pact with Mr Johnson’s party if they back a no-deal exit from the EU. However, he also threatened to “fight” all constituencies, including those held by the Conservatives, if the Government opted for a watered-down version of Theresa May’s Brexit plan. Asked on ITV’s Good Morning Britain what his stance would be if the Tories stood on a no-deal platform in a General Election, Mr Farage claimed: “Then our support and the Conservative support together would be unstoppable and Boris Johnson would win a very big majority.” Pressed on whether this meant the Brexit Party would not stand against Tory candidates, he added: “I would put country before party in those circumstances.” But a tie-up between the Brexit Party and the Conservatives, however loose, is likely to alienate some centrist Tory voters, particularly those who oppose leaving the EU. It comes after the Brexit Party announced some 635 candidates to stand in a General Election, if one is called, and Mr Farage warned the Prime Minister against seeking to “reheat” Mrs May’s Withdrawal Agreement — which was three times rejected by the Commons. “Even without the backstop, it’s still the worst deal in history,” he added. “So we are standing and we will stand in every seat in this election and will say to Boris Johnson ‘if you sell us out on Brexit with this awful Withdrawal Treaty we will fight you in every seat’.” |
