In speeches, Hitler made apparently warm references towards Muslim culture such as: "The peoples of Islam will always be closer to us than, for example, France".[5]
A famous anecdote about Adolf Hitler's perspectives towards Islam and the Arabs is recounted by Albert Speer in his best-selling memoir, Inside the Third Reich. Speer reports that "Hitler had been much impressed by a scrap of history he had learned from a delegation of distinguished Arabs."[6] The delegation had speculated that the world would have become "Mohammedan" if the Umayyad Caliphate had won the Battle of Tours in the 8th Century AD, and that the Germans would have become heirs to "a religion that believed in spreading the faith by the sword and in subjugating all nations to that faith. Such a creed was perfectly suited to the German temperament."[7] Speer then presents Hitler's claims on this subject: on Reading this I may not be a million miles Away ![]() |

It is not possible to justify the Holocaust in the way it is presented.
Struggling with this UBLE. Are you saying it would have been acceptable if presented differently? I'm sure you're not but that's how it reads. |

Independence is inevitable ..just a matter of when.
So is bankruptcy. The SNP slowly but surely metamorphosing into a Scottish version of Sinn Fein. |

There is a continual number of threads complaining about these two groups on here. If we go back to pre WW11, the majority immigrant groups were Jews and the Irish. So the same thing happened, complaints against immigrants, even though they were different immigrants It is a human condition societies tend to resent immigrants. Does this explain the Jewish problem, they have always been immigrants everywhere, as they did not have a country of their own at that time. Or is there a special problem with the Jews, steve, I really don't know? Well the part played by the immigrants never really seems to discussed. They are always the ‘victims’ and nothing more. Human beings are still often described as being tribal hence the never ending racial problems. I suspect most people feel more comfortable being around people they can associate themselves with. As we know all races of people are racist. It seems we are forbidden at times to be able to even discuss the negative impact immigration can cause. Has Irish immigration to the UK had any negative impact? Maybe. Did Jewish immigration to Europe have any negative impact on the host nations? It seems strange that there was so a huge ill feeling towards the people of Jewish faith in Europe and Russia for hundreds of years. What was the cause of the ill feeling. The BBC series ‘The Story of the Jews’ presented by Simon Schama is well worth a watch if this subject is of any interest. |

Simon Schama..a very nice and well educated man...and a Jew, he would defend the Jews I would think?
If it comes on again I will watch it Steve Unfortunately I have sympathy with the Palestinians so Jews will not like me very much.. Although I have nothing against Jews on a personal level....I think Palestine belongs to the Palestinians not Jews very unfortunate but there you are. |

One of the most shocking things I've ever heard was from the last few years in that area.
A Palestinian boy aged 16 murdered a 12 year old Jew but was then shot dead himself. Horrible as it was the real horror was the 16 yos mother declaring him a hero and saying she was proud of him. That's some hatred. Won't be an isolated case as that level of hatred is on both sides. Doubt there will ever be a solution. Not the only place in the world in that situation though. |

Said this before to you, you do realise that if Israel had lost the 1948 war there still would have been no Palestine then or now, or is that something you just choose to ignore because it suits your'e agenda. |

That's interesting Pump. What would have happened if Israel had lost the 1948 war? Would the land have been absorbed by Syria and/or Egypt or Jordan?
