The problem is Boris is dreadful in debate, he is basically just a parrot for the lines he's learned for an interview, which is why his medium is when he can speak unopposed, as soon as he is seriously challenged it all falls apart as there is no substance.

He says all the right words , and does all the right things , so far
No wonder the leftist traitors have their knickers in a twist

In the wrong order!

The bloke is a liablity. Going to destroy the Tory Party and destroy The Union.

slapped down again

"It was the understanding of West Yorkshire Police that any involvement of our officers was solely about police officer recruitment.

"We had no prior knowledge that the speech would be broadened to other issues until it was delivered.

"I was therefore disappointed to see my police officers as a backdrop to the part of the speech that was not related to recruitment."

He has clearly stated, on several occasions, that he will not go the EU and request an extension to Article 50.

Not exactly sure that's anything you'd rely on given the person in question.

Boris is a partisan orator and a fish out of water in the commons, he wants to be in a place where he can lord up his waffle and play to the gallery....he's actually making Corbyn look prime ministerial.

Has anyone else considered we could actually have the queen out twice in very quick order, her reading a script written by Cummings based on the ordered chaos of destabilising ideology of disruption....then a month later comes out reading a script extracted from Das Kapital?

Got to admit its going to be very interesting seeing what the hell the tories come up with before the next parliament.

They got the arse on calling the opposition cowards because their trap backfired and now parliament will close so they cant even play to the cameras in the commons.

They didnt entertain an election when they had (a very limited) majority, but now they are a lame duck they turned tiny tears.

Its going to be remarkable to think the queen will open a minority government who couldnt even get their sandwich order passed....as for who will be PM and how they go about 'electing' one god only knows.

They’ve offered an election ,is that not good enough for you ? what else do you expect them to do
By:

suffer for being opportunistic
By:

When: 06 Sep 19 16:23
I expect the opposition will sit and watch boris slowly die politically

I expect you’re wrong

Now you didn’t answer , what do you think the tories should do , they’ve offered an election
By:

When: 06 Sep 19 16:29
Personally I think they should vote no confidence in their own government....would be hilarious

ok

The accepted knowledge is that politicians in general are evasive....boris is down right disingenuous and dangerous. They will snuff him out.
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:32
How will they do that ?
By:

When: 06 Sep 19 16:38
He's walked down a culdersac of his own making without any route out

He will be forced to ask for more time and the running down of the clock is now in the opposition's hands until that point.

Either way his plan gets found out and he will have to go.

There was a great 15mins in the commons think it was wed night, where Ken Clarke scalded boris and made him look silly, followed by a good speech by Ian Blackford giving credit to Ken

Why does he have to go ?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:43
because the default as long as the opposition straight bats boris et al's attempt at goading them into agreeing an election before he has to go to the sumit is that the law forces him to request more time

you not been watching?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:44
or rather will be by monday and the opposition have agreed to abstain en mass
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:45
If that’s the law he has to comply with the law ,
What’s wrong with that ?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:47
what?
He's flatly denied doing it, he will have to if he stays, or he has to fall on his sword

He wouldnt even be able to pass a law change cos hes just sacked 21 mps

Hes up s hit creek
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:50
*flatly refused
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:52
There may be a way out of doing it
He can’t be forced to resign , even if he doesn’t do it
Why should he resign. ?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:55
If he doesnt do it he will be breaking the law

He either stays and does it, or resigns, because how will he stand for re-election after gambling everything on the bluff and getting called on the bluff when he promised so much and delivered nothing (and went back on his word)?
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:55
He can’t be forced to do it ,and he can’t be forced to resign as leader of the Tory party
Except by Tory party members
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:56
He can resign as pm
Stay as Tory party leader
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:57
You see the Labour Party ***** don’t get to choose the Tory party leader
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:57
Then whos in government?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:58
He cant resign as PM without 2/3rds of the vote without a no confidence vote
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:58
Now what’s wrong with that again ?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 16:58
How does boris resign as PM and stay as tory leader, who will be in government?
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 16:58
He can resign tomorrow as pm , and stay as Tory party leader
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 17:00
That means he will be leader in any new election , to be elected as pm
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 17:01
Any problem with that ?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 17:01
How does he resign without a no confidence vote?
By:
dustybin
When: 06 Sep 19 17:01
Who becomes PM....sooty?
By:
lfc1971
When: 06 Sep 19 17:03
It can be an interim pm , sooty or even Corbyn
That’s fine
