This issue smacks of the examples within Scared to Death, an excellent book by Christopher Booker detailing 10 scares that followed a similar pattern. Issue raised,media get hold of it and escalate concern,experts pitch in and enjoy adulation of attention,demand from the media reaches fever pitch then politicians have to be seen to do something,then mass concern and legislation followed by a consensus for taxation via legislation before the issue settles down naturally and we are all left with mass over reaction and extra costs.

My thoughts exactly. Out of those 270 posts there must be over 50 from John. Yet in those 50+ posts he fails to answer a single question. Or post a single post on the Thread topic of Greta Thunberg. I wonder if 1/2 mv^2 Means anything to John? I wonder what the "m" stands for. |

I do - that is why I asked you a question about your polar bear data. You didn't even tell us over what time period this increase happened. Pretty difficult to understand the cause of increasing bear population without the data. Could a reduction in hunting have an effect on bear numbers? |

I appreciate that you would find statistics "confusing " but I'm afraid you have just highlighted the importance of a good education. Do you also find calculus confusing? Maybe complex numbers are too complex for you. I'm afraid a basic understanding of data is necessary if want to comment on data. You mentioned a statistic that Polar bear population has increased but you have failed (repeatedly) to provide a link to this data - you haven't even bothered to explain what time period this increase has happened over. Are you saying that Polar bear numbers have doubled since that photo of a polar bear on ice was taken? It is possible to understand the basics of statistics- millions of people do, it is not a secret code. Love a conspiracy sentence without any evidence but uses the words "they" AND "their " without bothering to even explain who "they" are. Statistics is far less confusing than the post from the shiny hat mob. |

It is YOU not "they" who have posted "confusing " statistics. You claimed the bear population has doubled but have failed to provide a link to back up "YOUR" statistics. Over which period of time did this doubling of the population happen . Once we have the data it will be easier to understand what is happening. Could a reduction in hunting Polar bears gave an effect on the bear population? - Just a theory, hopefully not too "confusing " for you. |

Anybody with intelligence would be able to understand this simple concept so wouldn't ask if this garbage is of any help. It is f-all help. You mention a "BIG LIE" - yet it is you who post sine polar bear statistic without being able to provide any data/evidence to support your claim. Who exactly is telling this BIG LIE"?
