conditor why do you think all media is made up and stops people thinking?

media influences people. Literally right when they are sitting in the comfort of their home.

Rich people, powerful people, intelligent people etc know this. So they want a piece of this influence. Look at how many billionaires have bought news agencies in the last decade.

You will need to completely eradicate evil form the world for the media to start reporting the truth. There simply is no point in having a media company that can't influence opinion. To influence opinion, truth doesn't always work.

Its 2019 and people still have problems understanding the whole point of media(not aimed at you personally, but I have never understood why people expect news channels to report the truth).

The media in Britain in the main reports the truth and that is it’s aim
And in Britain we are fortunate to have a free media , some otherwise countries do not

You see don’t trust people like detrevaller , he comes from a country such as  Germany where not only was the press not free but the people weren’t free either
So he’s perhaps confusing Britain with gernany
That’s his problem

yhtl it’s a question of judgement , no one is totally free it’s childish to think so
In the main our press is free and so are we , thank god

What a surprise lfc adding nothing to a thread but abuse to another poster and a rendition of Rule Britannia.

America ? That’s another country where the press and the people are free , thank god

Now there are many countries in the world where that is not the case
Detraveller is a dangerous individual who might be confused and tries to skirt over these real lack of freedoms
That’s why you can’t trust someone like detraveller

They sure are clamping down on dissent in germany. Especially media sources under very close scrutiny but they haven't started burning books yet.
has this ever happened before?

You see for example there was Russia where Solzhenitsyn spent years in the gulag for telling the truth

Now when that happens in England come back and let us know
In the meantime detraveller can shut up

you seem to get away from the testosterone responsive comment from johnson.some of the comments you make may have some merit somewhere but they dontfit with the factsthere are lots of current issues around testosterone levels in female athletes

The testosterone and PED side is a different issue it's not something I ever get away from it's probably my favourite subject in the case of this thread topic it has no bearing.
Johnsons comment was about how a persons own testosterone responds in the body not exogenous test,African males not only have higher test rates but lower Estrogen type hormones blocking androgen receptors making more 'free' testosterone available for use that's what is meant by more 'testosterone responsive'.

A pasty whitey like myself might have adequate test in the body but too much Estrogen for the body to use it as easily ergo less testosterone responsive.
I'm happy to talk about any PED related issue and the current climate around 'female' athletes but the documentary is about the origins of the genes which produce the best athletes in history and finding the connected truths to the slave trade which are acknowledged on the programme.

I would agree you have to laugh

But it does seem that people originating in Africa seem to do well in sport,

higher than their numbers would suggest.

i think we all agree in that uble

but if you gave the same improved conditions to those africans not enslaved
that they have today in usa  would they produce a similar calibre of sprinter?

i used to have the argument with golf mates about the advantages of usa college
system to golf, ..now that usa is open to european golfers you see an improvement
in european golf.

maybe thats the advantage and nowt to do with enslavement....then it becomes
part of culture to become an athlete, and it snowballs.

not many black guys winning olympic medals in early years of olympics, and slavery
was long gone.

Very interesting documentary denzil , like an episode of who do you think you are . What a world we live in :(
The idea of the diverse genetics from different parts of Africa coming together does make sense
In England the world’s first industrial country there was something similar as people moved from the countryside to the towns and cities and mills and factories and found partners from outside their own town and area
This was genetically good and created health and diversity and a people who were already the most intelligent and creative probably anywhere in the world became even moreso over the following couple of centuries
