Last July was warmer for a kick off, this year we got 3 days of high humidity and that was enough for them to spout their OTT c*ap
They can take pieces of that data to fit whatever agenda they are going with ffs
Its pitiful now
We've had warmer July's I can assure you of that Last July was warmer for a kick off, this year we got 3 days of high humidity and that was enough for them to spout their OTT c*ap They can take pieces of that data to fit whatever agenda they are goin
Last summer we got a good 2 to 3 week period of good sunshine
2004 was the best summer I can remember, the whole 6 week holidays were blue sky sunshine, we spent all day everyday of that 6 week holiday on the park playing footy and sitting on the bank talking b0llucks
We've not had a stretch like that again since

I recall 1976 as a summer of hot weather, pretty sure I haven't lived through one like that since but also sure some bright spark will select a doctored piece of data to tell me otherwise.

The Earth is 4 billion years old and there as many years far hotter than this year or any year in the near future. The Earth orbits the sun the sun in turn travellers through the night sky in what is known as procession to do full 365 degree orbit take just under 26000 years, the Earth alsof goes through periods of tilt and periods of distance change all of these things have an impact on the Earth. However adding to these problems will only make things worse, I am all for greenactment energy not least because of the freedom and opportunities it will ultimately bring for those communities that sensible enough to use them, no more spending money to the Russians and the Middle East. Win Win

aaron - figures? I gave you THE figure. The EU Climate Change Service are saying July was the hottest on record and their records go back just the 40 years.
The spin is that it's the hottest July ever.
Lamentable.
I had a wonderful curry last week. It's the best curry I've had since June.. It was the best curry on record. Spin: it was the best curry ever.

How they can spin it as they are takes some serious front it has to be said
Its not even in the hottest July of the past 2 years though ffs

Just because this organisation has satellite data for "only" 40 years does not mean it does not have access to data recorded using different methods.
I would guess that when the 1st satellite started to send back data it was calibrated with traditional surface methods.
Injera's 2nd link contains a graph which suggests temp 100 years ago, 50 years ago was not even close to the recent temperatures recorded. The 1940's seems to be warmer than 1930s or 1950s but nowhere near the temp of past decade.
The is data stretching back over 40 years, clearly disappointed that the lazy Victorians could not be bothered to put a few satellites into orbit.

Yeah, because the guy saying "I remember it was dead warm last summer" is just an important source of truth as the scientists looking at data over many years spanning the entire planet.

There are some studies on the earths magnetoshere and its effect on the weather very small changes in it ie a weaker field will mean more of the suns radiation reaching the earths atmosphere therefore warming the planet as more cloud cover is formed but that is conveniently ignored by the climate change activists

Any link to some of these studies duke. A couple of NASA pages (links below) suggest solar activity & Earth's temp are being studied- they seem to think the effect is small compared to atmospheric changes. NASA disagree with your theory that more clouds means more of Sun's radiation reaching Earth - they say the opposite.
They are not sure if more clouds will result in higher temps (clouds act like blankets- keeping in warm air at night) or cooler temps (clouds reflect sunlight before it reaches Earth's surface)
Plenty of money is being spent on studying the Sun - the topic is hardly being ignored.

As a former stats man I have always had scepticism about the interpretation of stats, too often a predefined hypothesis tends to get proven by an inherent bias. Remember the famous bathtub curve ? Many fell for that until it was proven false.

There is a tad more to the global warming theory than a few stats which may have been misinterpreted because of a bias.
What do you mean by a former stats man - could pretty much anything from studying at GCSE to being a professor at a University maths department .

also one of the big things that is proven to have an affect on the earths climate is population density so if you draw a circle around china india which incorporates indonesia and malaysia etc there is over half the worlds population in a relative small area but also in a very hot area and you can see why the weather will change its a bit like focusing a magnifying glass

Good idea to move on from your previous solar activity & cloud cover theory without further comment.
So in your latest post are you seem to be saying that human population is having a proven affect on temperature. Isn't that exactly what the scientists / politicians etc. Who claim that global warming is due to Humans are also claiming?
Are you agreeing with the scientific community or disagreeing?

Everybody knows that any emissions from Britain could never ever have any influence on the climate anywhere else anyway. We are Britain, the land of The Lord, surrounded by a magic barrier.

Let the Anthropogenic Climate Change campaigners take up the thorny issues of mass migration, population increase/density and poverty.
I've yet to here the big cheeses tackle any of these. Do they want Africa to have an industrial revolution? What if they demanded meat in their daily diet? (They eat maize, the rich eat rice).
Do any of these lovers of the planet call for a pause in housebuilding or other infrastructure? No!
Do they call for a pause in migration from economies of subsistence farming to industrialised cities? No!
Are they frustrated that thousands of EU migrants fly back and forth to their homelands from our multiple airports? No!
Do they tirelessly campaign for the UK to tariff the hell out of imported goods so the carbon footprint of such is reduced? No! Do they slag Trump for this? Yes!
Until we see a consistency of deabata and action, scepticism is the best policy.

Injera From your previous posts you clearly don't believe in global warming mainly based on a lack of data. Please tell us why the points you posted above are a thorny issue? Who are the big cheeses? Why do you think there is a lack of consistency of debate? Why is scepticism the best action?

Data can be manipulated to prove anything you care to make it prove.
People with vested interests in projects are very prone to lying.
Certain people are making a lot of money out of promoting the idea that man is responsible for climate change.
The general public are easily convinced.

Don't give me that 99% of scientists believe either.
Not when 99% of GPs will tell you that drug therapy is the only answer to many illnesses. Which I know is incorrect.
In a company employing 1,000 scientists, there's only one opinion that matters. That's the one who employs them. They follow their leader or look for another job.
