Well they don't have to give any tbh and maybe they are getting fed up
But if they don't extend we have the right to revoke Article 50, which, will not be good. I think a second referendum is a mistake and the Remain Parties should seek a mandate through a General Election. I am not sure they would win one but if there is a second Referendum and Remain wins the battle is over but the war had just begun. I am still at a loss by these muppets who think BJ DOESN'T HAVE TO RESIGN! Lunatics! Aceeeeeeed! |

he doesn't. Take a tab & chill

No Baph,
If he doesn't lose a vote of No confidence the net sum game ends there. He will try and wait out Brexit. Remain will have to resort to measures that will probably be decided in Court and that will not be good for the Country, Parliament is not The Executive. |

having read plenty (and heard even more) of legal opinions; the chances of their being a legal precedent are thin to non-existant

The is no election for Prime Minister.
As soon as he loses ( If ) a vote of No Confidence he is no longer primus inter pares! If he does not RESIGN the Queen will send for Corbyn to try and form a Government or anybody else who might have the confidence of the House. The spin about him not resigning is risable. It is not his ball. He cannot take it away! |
|
By:
WD, surely today shows not a chance anyone else will gain the confidence of the house. corbyn not a chance in hell. enough of his own MPs won't vote him. far more than tories who might take the nuclear option of being booted out of the party if they vote for him
as for any of the other options they're absolutely risible |

Hungary will vote against any extention the BBC have seen to that

3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of
the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period. It is quite clear that "this period" can be extended. But this period quite clearly refers to the two years after the notification. "This period" was originally extended until 12th April. I can't see anything that allows a further extension, it is only the 2 year period that can be extended and, once it has been extended, there is no longer a 2 year period to extend. I would contend, therefore, that we left at the end of the 12th April. |

Boris wont last for long though lets be honest
Corbyn wont win a vote of no confidence, if he couldn't persuade the fools to vote May down then there's no chance with Johnson in my opinion Would be funny if Corbyn got in even for a few days ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
Corbyn does not want a deal and so far he hasn't put a foot wrong
|
|

Because he has not moved his feet

I think he might win a vote of no confidence but the ability to form a Government is unlikey but there is a lot to play for for Remainer's. If they do nothing we are out! Expect the unexpected and the Courts to be involved. |

The courts have done fine job so far

After extensive research I found out that there has been no flip flop towards "yes" on the no-deal Brexit in 2019 market.

By:
I did understand what you posted. I was merely expressing the opinion that it was misplaced and silly on a thread about no-deal.

Sorry, I should've known that you need absolutely everything spelt out to you in clear terms.

I think there is a strong swell certainly in Parliament to stop No deal
I would say this too. We are stepping into the unknown and we do not have a clue what to do. If nothing else we need more time to sort this mess out. Today the BJ and Patel have announced an immigration crackdown. I will not argue the merits of it but we have two months to implement it. They cannot get the procedures ready in time. I understand the Brexiters demand for us to get out and I understand that but it will not be alright on the night. There will be chaos. I also think this second Referendum is phoney. The argument is in or out but now as it should be it is about what out means and it is this that we have to come to terms with. It is again my view that we shall not be leaving and a General Election may make the impasse in Westminster worse. The proper debate we should have had before the Referendum is taking place now. It is an unholy mess. |

By:
it can't be stopped unless the EU back down. There isn't anything any collaborating dissenter can do to stop no-deal. They can all rant rave & weep, scaremonger & plot, but it cannot be done. Start to take it in

EU agreed an extension, that was quite helpful but what did they do with it? have a drawn out leadership
contest then go on holiday for 6 weeks. |
|
By:
the only reason they gave the last extension was to give their "pals" in the House time to concoct some other form of treachery
|
|
By:
unfortunately for them Bozo the clown kicked that back down the pitch
