Interesting what PN said about the 'agenda'.
He said they're briefed to be positive in post match interviews to say what a good game it was. He refused to do that and gave the Cameroonies both barrels. It's sickening that they have to brief managers to lie!!! |
By:
To be fair to him he did admit that, injera
And yes it is pathetic, its about time all of them come out and told the truth about what goes on in these "media training lessons" ffs Isn't it funny how a bloke like Nigel Pearson can't find employment but someone like Alan Pardew keeps getting jobs? Wouldn't have anything to do with this towing the party line would it? |

The media are embarrassing anyone with an ounce of intelligence.
Re the spitting Gabby mentioned 'clearing the throat' and refused to condemn it. |

Cameroon were ready to dish it out, and did not want to accept correct decisions.
That is the African way (I lived there years back). You can get kicked from behind and they call it a tackle. At the same time the BBC commentary got a little out of line when the England player was pushed off the pitch and fell against the Cameroon manager. The BBC commentary suggested the England player was assaulted by the Cameroon player (true) and by the Cameroon manager (false). I think England's play was a little loose, and their next opponents Norway are a very precise team. England might need to be better organised, and not have bouts of inattention. |

Wonderful to see Cameroon bringing to the feast that special African brand of culturally-enriching vibrancy, for which that continent is rightly famed.
If an Argentinian men's side had behaved like that against an England men's side, they would have rightly been roasted in the media. |

None of these womens national teams would give a non-league team a game
In their final warm up match, tournament favorites USA Women were beaten 5-2 by Dallas Boys Under 15's. I am fairly certain any non-league side in the UK would beat Dallas Boys U-15's in a canter |
By:
That was 2017, BigH
But yeah the point still stands. Even an under 15s side played with them, and womens football wants to be taken seriously ![]() USA are pretty much untouchable in womens football, and even they can't compete with college sides |
By:
Strangely they've wiped the result and reports of it off the web
![]() ![]() I mean if your going to ram it down peoples throats at least have the good grace to admit its not of a great standard ffs I assume we wont be seeing anymore womens teams playing under 18s/15s boy sides then, they can just say how great it is without having to bury any negative news Someone needs to call them out |
By:
they would have to start at around level 12 -14 ...i think then their skill and fitness would see them over the line ,but yes i agree they would be beaten soundly by a side in the National league etc

England womens - appx scores for comparison purposes - this is how i imagine it
v Tier 1 (epl) 0-34 V Tier 2 0-28 v Tier 3 0-22 V Tier 4 0-17 v Tier 5 (nat) 0-14 v Tier 6 0-11 7/ 0-9 8/ 0-8 9/ 0-6 10/ 0-4 11/ 0-3 12/ 0-2 13/ 0-1 14/ 0-0 |

level 14 is around the district leagues ,usually a village team but up a few rungs from Sunday league i believe

Easy to knock the standard lads obviously but a positive for me is they have a go.
It's something I noticed in Womens Boxing and MMA there are some cracking tear ups where they seem to be trying to prove themselves which is a good thing, instead of the half hearted posers trying to look good and win without a fight or in football taking the huff with the manager and not trying like many of our Premier League pansies. |

Hello, Coach.
I hope you are well, sir? |
By:
Regarding your hypothetical scenario of a women’s team facing an EPL side, dear chap: I have a hunch that if the men’s team were tasked with winning no holds barred then the match would end early due to injuries and retirements etc.
By:
I've played around Tier 12 and we would easily beat any team at the Women's World Cup. Even at that level most players are fit and strong mixed in with some who could play much higher but would rather play with their mates.
By:
Sorry Crisp you might play Tier 12 Football whatever that is but you obviously don't know much about football. I dare say any schoolboy 1st XL would beat the English Women's team.
By:

Sorry coach but you are deluded too. Any men's National League team would thrash any England Women's team! |
By:
I believe any mans pub team would beat them comfortably, the little bits of skill they show is only due to the lack pf pace, amount of space they get, no law saying women cant play in a mans team, whats the lowest level you have to go down to to find a woman playing in a mans team,if a woman could play in a non lg side it would have more kudos than playing in womens lg,
with the size, strength, difference and womens goalkeeping any set piece ,corner would be a very high % end in a goal |
By:
absolutely!
Like I said even a schoolboys 1st XL would beat them. Anyone who seriously thinks they would beat a decent men's team Tier 12 or whatever are complete boo****s imho! Apologies to crisp! I didn't read your post correctly but you do over estimate how good women footballers are. They would be muller'd by most mens and even boys teams |
By:
Not a chance of beating a Sunday league team imo.
By:
Any XL would outnumber them by almost 4 to 1.
By:
its just a different game like a woman cricketer facing an over from Michael holding
By:
you get our looney friend alex scott pinching phrases out of klopps playbook to describe game, full, press, closing down, pressure on the ball etc, when in reality the game she,s talking about has enough space all over the pitch to park double decker buses, ages to take a touch, control the ball etc

By:
ok mouse
Don't get pernickety! |
By:
you know what I meant not what I wrote!

In that case I'd just about agree with you. They'd maybe give an average school first XI a run for their money.

many moons ago some oldies might remember a group called the boys brigade, like the scouts, cubs, but age range was 12ish to 16,18, we were towards the lower endand although very good for our age, when we played aside full of the older players even in 35,40 mins ew games, we,d lose 36,48 nil couldn't compete
half decent mens team you,d be looking at agoal a minute |
By:
I can just about remember being in the boys brigade many moons ago.
By:
I think you're wrong
... the boys teams that the girls lost to were academy sides .... i have seen /played plenty of local football at Sunday level and I think the women would win sorry . Strength does play a major part i agree but then wharrabout the Japanese etc ..they're slighltly built and surely passing acc / skill on the ball trumps 'speed' at that level |
By:
Hope you're well too Poker and agree the men would play a bit rough maybe just to make a point no doubt - what is it with the human race ?

Good for Neville, spoke out when it would have been easier for him to brush it under the carpet. The sort of behavior you would want to see from your leader.
