Once was a kitchen porter at Knoll House hotel.
Johnny--I know many share your opinion about the hotel. It has been taken over recently so maybe things have improved or will improve in the near future. |

You can't fault its location JML and it would be good if there was a decent alternative to The Pig as it's virtually impossible to get a room there.

Mrs was looking at hiring a cottage in Beckfoot near Silloth in Cumbria. Anyone been there?

Yes, I've just been looking at it. She wants a break and we have 2 dogs so that cuts down the options quite a bit. This cottage looks like it's in the middle of nowhere. But as long as there's a boozer nearby, I'll be happy.

I told her to look for Devon, Cornwall, Somerset. After a while she asked me if Cumbria was near there.
