Tough one that. Personally I'd say Pink Floyd (3 times), but some would consider Michael Jackson (probably not of late) or Whitney Houston to be bigger.

A very tough question to pick out a live performance that I have seen that I would rate above all else.
If pushed I would have to say Bruce Springstein and The E Street Band at Wembley stadium on July 4th 1985, I wasn't even going to go as I didn't really know any of his songs but by Christ he totally rocked 80,000 people senseless with a truly unforgettable performance.

Saw a grown adult male on the TV earlier today complaining about the sound quality at ... a Spice Girls gig. Apparently he paid 75 quid for the ticket.
I think he may also like "show tunes" which maybe explained it a bit!

You would have to pay me £75 quid and provide a free bar served by a naked Scarlet Johansson all night for me to go to a 'Spice Girl' gig!

Were all of chit chat at that Wembley Springsteen Gig in '85?

Me and a mate hitched up to Brammal Lane to see him the week afterwards too.

Other than that, Oasis at Glastonbury / Maine Road /Loch Lomond

Was at Bramall Lane too, not one of his best concerts imo. Band seemed all at sea with their stage positions. Now Roundhay Park............

Sloppy, that was apparently the standard cheap standing ticket. I shudder to think what the expensive tickets cost, like those "VIP" ones they like to sell now to bleed gullible people of their money. £150? Who knows.

Maybe if I got 30 seconds backstage in a cupboard with Emma Bunton I'd be up for it. Err ... That would be long enough BlushWhoops.

Zig-a-zig-wtf. On ticketmuster, the basic tickets at the etihad for the Spice Middle Aged Women start at 93.5 quid, "platinum" tickets are 225-250, the "VIP" tickets are £176-£291 each.

I'd be wanting 60 seconds in the cupboard with Bunton AND Sporty for that.

That's a point. I saw Clapton when he was second on the bill to Dylan at Blackbushe.

He was sh1t too.

And I saw U2 when they replaced Subway Sect as second on the bill to John Cale at the Lyceum in London (the Subway Sect frontman couldn't make it, owing to having to do a late shift in the betting shop he was working in).

Fair to say U2 re-defined the term 'sh1t' that night.

Poppy, I too saw Waters at the MEN. Bit of a trot for me but well worth seeing DSotM performed live.

As for sh1t I thought Simple Minds fit that description well. Backed by Texas who were awesome.

Rod Stewart, McCartney.  You can't get bigger than those two with hit after hit after hit.  Both just fabulous.

----
Paul McCartney, get with the program, he was killed by chemtrails and the current guy is a shape shifting member of the illuminutty who beams 5G mind control rays from his quaint electro acoustic violin death-bass, that he used to kill Madeline McCann.

I don't suppose this counts but I did at least see one of Rod's roadies assembling some scaffolding in a football stadium in Copenhagen in 2007, the day after the infamous abandoned Denmark 3-3 Sweden Euro qualifier, that was subsequently altered to a 3-0 win for Sweden.
