Tough one that. Personally I'd say Pink Floyd (3 times), but some would consider Michael Jackson (probably not of late) or Whitney Houston to be bigger.

A very tough question to pick out a live performance that I have seen that I would rate above all else. If pushed I would have to say Bruce Springstein and The E Street Band at Wembley stadium on July 4th 1985, I wasn't even going to go as I didn't really know any of his songs but by Christ he totally rocked 80,000 people senseless with a truly unforgettable performance.

Saw a grown adult male on the TV earlier today complaining about the sound quality at ... a Spice Girls gig. Apparently he paid 75 quid for the ticket. I think he may also like "show tunes" which maybe explained it a bit!

Were all of chit chat at that Wembley Springsteen Gig in '85?
Me and a mate hitched up to Brammal Lane to see him the week afterwards too.
Other than that, Oasis at Glastonbury / Maine Road /Loch Lomond

Sloppy, that was apparently the standard cheap standing ticket. I shudder to think what the expensive tickets cost, like those "VIP" ones they like to sell now to bleed gullible people of their money. £150? Who knows.
Maybe if I got 30 seconds backstage in a cupboard with Emma Bunton I'd be up for it. Err ... That would be long enough .

Zig-a-zig-wtf. On ticketmuster, the basic tickets at the etihad for the Spice Middle Aged Women start at 93.5 quid, "platinum" tickets are 225-250, the "VIP" tickets are £176-£291 each.
I'd be wanting 60 seconds in the cupboard with Bunton AND Sporty for that.

That's a point. I saw Clapton when he was second on the bill to Dylan at Blackbushe.
He was sh1t too.
And I saw U2 when they replaced Subway Sect as second on the bill to John Cale at the Lyceum in London (the Subway Sect frontman couldn't make it, owing to having to do a late shift in the betting shop he was working in).
Fair to say U2 re-defined the term 'sh1t' that night.

Poppy, I too saw Waters at the MEN. Bit of a trot for me but well worth seeing DSotM performed live.
As for sh1t I thought Simple Minds fit that description well. Backed by Texas who were awesome.

alun2005 • May 29, 2019 12:54 PM BST I went to a concert where Paul and Linda McCartney were just sitting there as spectators. ---- Paul McCartney, get with the program, he was killed by chemtrails and the current guy is a shape shifting member of the illuminutty who beams 5G mind control rays from his quaint electro acoustic violin death-bass, that he used to kill Madeline McCann.

Rod Stewart, McCartney. You can't get bigger than those two with hit after hit after hit. Both just fabulous.
I don't suppose this counts but I did at least see one of Rod's roadies assembling some scaffolding in a football stadium in Copenhagen in 2007, the day after the infamous abandoned Denmark 3-3 Sweden Euro qualifier, that was subsequently altered to a 3-0 win for Sweden.

I was lucky enough to be at Knebworth to see Queen live. Freddie, as usual, was immense. There has been no bigger showman in my opinion than Freddie.
If you don't like him my post will fall on deaf ears. But as a live performer, he has no match.

Pink Floyd at Earls Court, Knebworth, and Afan Lido Port Talbot. Roger Waters at Wembley.
Other bands (distant second imo), Sabbath, Purple, Maiden, Motorhead, Fleetwood, Rainbow, and more.

Incredible Slippy but not all plain sailing. The concert was put back from (if memory serves) September to October. One night was p1ssing down and the other was absolutely freezing (the night I went on) but lighting up the docklands the way he did was, as you say, absolutely amazing. Even in the bitter cold it was worth the wait.

When I come to think of it .it was none of those that I mentioned .The biggest one was the group the stilt walkers. They didn't have any hit records ,but when on stage they fell over each other to try and give you an experience that even those who didn't like their music would never forget
Sid the stilt (as he was known to his fans )was the biggest member of the group .and at the end of each gig .he did not smash his guitar on the floor of the stage he was unique He smashed it on the ceiling .once smashing the light bulbs and fusing the electric system which lead to total blackout of the theatre .if that's not rock and roll I don't know what is
The fans loved it especially the boys who groped the girls in the dark arena as they vacated their seats to exit There was one girl who was screaming as though she didn't like the sexual attention of the male fans But my friend Maureen who is an usheerrette said that it was all an act as she was the very last one to leave the arena.andcshe had a big smile on her face

Jean-Michel Jarre - Destination Docklands was probably the 'biggest' show I ever saw (reportedly 250,000 attended plus light show was witnessed by many more) but the biggest band I ever saw is Pink Floyd , in terms of record sales / popularity .

It's shocking when you think about how The Edge blew most of that on black beanie caps made from Unicorn pubes.

Incidentally, I just noticed that Ticketmaster have a flash sale this weekend on The Who at Wembley 6 July 2019. BOGOF.
Seems strange, but looking at the site it seems legit.
