The West Country's the place to be.
We've got not just the nicest weather and the most beautiful landscapes, but also the most entertaining list of candidates. Lord Adonis will be trading blows with Sargon of Akkad, while Ann Widdecombe grapples Boris Johnson's sister; and Larch Maxey of the Ecological Land Cooperative is presumably looking for votes from the tree community. Could split the Green Party vote, with the latter represented by a candidate registered as 'Molly' Scott Cato, which is presumably someone's dog. There are also, I suppose, Conservative and Lib Dem candidates. But who cares about them? |

Some people (remainers) want a 2nd referendum. Totting up the votes for pro-Brexit and anti-Brexit parties might give a rough idea of how a referendum would go. I have an inkling it would be much more in favour of Brexit than the original referendum.

^No evidence for this and that's on basic remain vs leave votes too which another referendum will never be. Leave will have to actually stand for something if another referendum takes place otherwise it serves no purpose.

Aprotest vote for a here today gone tomorrow party,todays their day though and I hope they kick some a$$. Me,im not voting,from day one (well nearly) I said we would never be allowed to leave, I would love to be wrong and we leave with a hard Brexit and the sod the bloody EU

This was done earlier in the week (poll of polls) and leaving out Con and labour and adding Farage's Folly with UKIP against the remain parties gives something like 36-37.5% to the remain parties, in other words, just like the ref a very close result. Either way, the results of this election should have as much bearing as the LIbdems success did in the local elections - i.e it means feck all, unless maybe one side gets 60% which won't happen. |

Bearing on Brexit that is true. And you'd be right to say most people are voting for that reason. But in reality you should be voting the best people to represent you in the European parliament, you can't moan about having a lack of say if you then vote for people you know won't turn up.

The LibDem successes in the local elections do mean something if you've found yourself lumbered with them. The next time some chancer from the Smoke wants to plaster 100 acres of Somerset with solar panels, it'll get nodded through.
 I'll say one thing, after donating yesterday to a political party for the first time ever: having spent a pony registering as a Brexit Party supporter, I'm motivated to walk to the polling station today in a way I never felt in all the years I voted Labour pre-Corbyn. |

I should imagine the majority of people voting for Brexit are presuming that the referendum decision will be implemented as per the pledges of our elected leaders.

At which point they've made a bad vote. Either Brexit happens and the vote doesn't matter or it does and you've elected people who won't turn up and represent you and these same types will then moan about a lack of influence in the EU.
Of course this would involve seeing the need for a plan B, and it seems most Brexiteers don't have a plan A. |

I would definitely recommend using a marker pen on the ballot paper when you cast your vote, whoever you vote for.
Miscreants could still of course 'spoil' you ballot paper, but it is at least a small security measure which would make it difficult for persons to alter your vote to that of another party. Remember, there are constituencies in this country which have had problems in recent years with electoral fraud, so always try your best to circumvent this where you can. There is of course one political party (in particular their Leader) which actually goes into this election with the recent endorsement of an Islamist Fundamentalist group.
