There will always be enough to join the force. At worst, the guys running those gangs in London will happily sign up.

I've never had a good opinion about cops but I now consider them the scum of the earth because of an incident that happened to me about two months back. Walked out of my home with a friend who had come to visit me from Austria. A police car showed up. They got out, one pulled out his gun. Didn't even talk to us but started walking around us in circles. Then a van with 6 more cops showed up. Never told us what the issue was. But for some reason they looked so scared that they told us not to move and wouldn't even come near us to check us. I asked them if I could help them and they wouldn't tell me what the issue was. They made both of us keep our hands up for 10 min, then against the van for 10 min. Then they went through our phones, our call logs. Why my friend had about 400 Euros of cash in his pocket etc etc. Then they took us to a nearby street where apparently someone had been robbed and the robber was wearing a black trouser, just like me. ffs. Anyhow the robbed guy told the cops we weren't the ones and they dropped us back at my home. This was very embarrassing as I was meeting my friend after about 5 years.

Next day I complained at the police station. I was told two things. I will never win if I sued them. And that the police can use force and go through my phone if they think I am carrying a weapon. I didn't have legal insurance so I didn't pursue it further, but I do now after this incident.

What got me was how scared those cops were. It was simply a case of checking our pockets and ensuring we weren't carrying any weapons. But it needed to be 8 of them for them to even start getting near us. This is obviously protocol, but I could see from their faces the two cops were scared shet, until 6 more arrived. Then they started acting like they'd achieved some great feat.

The two cops wouldn't stand a chance against those refugees, and those news items that never made sense now do to me. The guy in the video is right in calling the cop a pusy. Everyone can be brave with the power of state behind him and a weapon in his hand.

waste of time complaing about the police to the police, ipcc are just @rse lickers. report a break in or assault and no one is available, commit a minor traffic offence and six of the scumbags will be there in under 5 minutes.

I'd like to add that one of the two cops that first arrived had the audacity to later tell the other 6 cops that I looked nervous! Not sure what he was expecting me to act like with 8 cops around me, four of them holding weapons in their hands. This, when he was the one acting like a pusy walking around us in circles waiting for 6 more cops to arrive before he could approach us.

Thanks cooper, but I live in Germany.

I did some research later and I could clearly get back to them for going through my phone without my permission. But I didn't have any legal insurance and i've sued my employer once without any lawyer and its just not worth it(sued them for 1.2k, got only 500 euros, later realized I could have sued them for thousands for what they'd done). I've learnt my lesson and taken appropriate measures now to protect myself as things are generally only going to get worse in the future.

So this happened in Germany? IF the robbery happened with a gun they perhaps thought you had a gun, which is going to make anyone a bit nervous.

If this is Germany of course you can be summarily executed by the Bundeslaufenpolizei for Jay walking. Fact.

I agree with JC. The assailant may have been armed and they were not taking any chances. Can you blame them?

Back in the 70s if you stepped out of line, they took you away in a van and gave you a good thumping, well so I heard Wink

Now they can`t even use force to get an eejit into a car.

what the police hate most of all is someone who knows their rights and is willing to stand up for them. say "no" to one and they are straight away calling for backup, you then get the gruppenfuhrer and his ss mates attending.

I'm not sure what the stats are on German gun crime but anecdotally I thought that area of the world was worse as it's got open borders with guns from the eastern block countries? One reason I suppose the German police (and even security guards in some coutries in Europe) are armed?

Interesting stats here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate

So German has > 4x the gun related death rate of the UK. Though .. delving deeper, there are lies and statistics, and very interstingly the homicide rates are similar it's their gun SUICIDE rate that makes up the big difference. Austria's total per capita is almost 3x Germany! I remember looking at the display of glocks in a shop window on a normal austrian high street, and thinking "you don't see that here!". Honduras wins. Not going there on my hols this year.

Apart from when I go to Brixton market I have not seen a rozzer on the beat where I live for about 4 years if not longer. I totally despise the police, thick, two bob nobodies the lot of them. They tried to give me a hard time when I had done nothing wrong and I just squashed them like the rancid liars they were.

A few years ago the 'Brixton Pound' used to be a thing, is that still going? It was money/currency that could only be spent/given in Brixton in local shops to help independant stores rather than multinationals, thought it was a good idea at the time.

Yes I later read in the news that there was an armed robbery. That made the episode even more ridiculous as there were 8 policemen engaged with me and 2 with the guy who was robbed. A standard 'Polizeieinsatz' for robbery in Germany is exactly that. SO basically they wasted over an hour on us giving the real robber enough time to get to safety. Doesn't sound like great police work to me.

As I said earlier, I offered them help and wanted to cooperate but the shifty cop didn't want to talk. All he did was radio backup then hold his gun and walk around us in circles(maybe so we don't run away?). It took them 45 minutes to decide that they could solve the issue by taking us to the robbed guy who was standing about 150m away.

So they treated us as guilty until proven innocent. The whole squad wasted their time on us. Not sure if this is how they usually work but if this is their standard procedure it should be pretty easy for criminals to get away.

This is true. But the alternative isn't all that great either. They can basically do what they want to do so at the end of the day you cooperating or not isn't what decides their behavior. I read some articles on the net related to such incidents and the clear advice is to know your rights, and use them.

I don't know if my behavior is justified or not but a policeman is never again getting an ounce of respect from me. In fact i'll be deliberately wasting their time the next time I have the chance. To have 4 people pointing guns at you for half an hour is a terrifying experience, especially when they refuse to tell you what its about. I was shaken and the cop acting brave was on about how I was nervous. On top of all that, I had a guest whom I had known for 20 years and who visited me on the request of my parents. I had to apologize to him too as he went through the exact same experience as me.

Some events can change your life and this one has changed my perception of police forever. Hopefully I don't have to deal with them scum again in my life.

I worked alongside the police for over a year during the refugee crisis. So I had a lot of respect for them before this event. But I can't stand the sight of a policeman now.
