No not a stall akabula, I just like going there as I was born in Brixton and it's only a 10 minute drive from me and I usually do my food shopping there.

So this happened in Germany? IF the robbery happened with a gun they perhaps thought you had a gun, which is going to make anyone a bit nervous. If this is Germany of course you can be summarily executed by the Bundeslaufenpolizei for Jay walking. Fact.
Yes I later read in the news that there was an armed robbery. That made the episode even more ridiculous as there were 8 policemen engaged with me and 2 with the guy who was robbed. A standard 'Polizeieinsatz' for robbery in Germany is exactly that. SO basically they wasted over an hour on us giving the real robber enough time to get to safety. Doesn't sound like great police work to me.
As I said earlier, I offered them help and wanted to cooperate but the shifty cop didn't want to talk. All he did was radio backup then hold his gun and walk around us in circles(maybe so we don't run away?). It took them 45 minutes to decide that they could solve the issue by taking us to the robbed guy who was standing about 150m away.
So they treated us as guilty until proven innocent. The whole squad wasted their time on us. Not sure if this is how they usually work but if this is their standard procedure it should be pretty easy for criminals to get away.

what the police hate most of all is someone who knows their rights and is willing to stand up for them. say "no" to one and they are straight away calling for backup, you then get the gruppenfuhrer and his ss mates attending.
This is true. But the alternative isn't all that great either. They can basically do what they want to do so at the end of the day you cooperating or not isn't what decides their behavior. I read some articles on the net related to such incidents and the clear advice is to know your rights, and use them.
I don't know if my behavior is justified or not but a policeman is never again getting an ounce of respect from me. In fact i'll be deliberately wasting their time the next time I have the chance. To have 4 people pointing guns at you for half an hour is a terrifying experience, especially when they refuse to tell you what its about. I was shaken and the cop acting brave was on about how I was nervous. On top of all that, I had a guest whom I had known for 20 years and who visited me on the request of my parents. I had to apologize to him too as he went through the exact same experience as me.
Some events can change your life and this one has changed my perception of police forever. Hopefully I don't have to deal with them scum again in my life.
Brave lady.
