My Latin teacher, Mr. Cottrell, lobbing the board rubber at anyone if they were chewing bubble gum in class. He had terrible eyesight and when he launched the missile we all ducked under our desks as it could have gone anywhere, even if it wasn't meant for me I took preventive tactics just in case. Bless him, I had total respect for Mr.Cottrell even though he was a bit of a nutcase

How did this company, clearly not fit to hold any sensible person's data, become so successful in defiance of all common sense?

when the weetabix gang were characters on adverts for...well weetabix and reminded you a bit of madness the band

I remember Kick off on the amiga, somebody calculated how fast the players were actually running to cover a pitch so quickly...turned out to be around 60 mph

Good god. I remember you'd have them in the old Crash comp mags (which was a good name for computers back then because you invariably loaded a game without the joystick attached, and you tried to just attach one.....and it did something to the things longterm head f uck. Made the things start crashing at a whim).

I did one of those codes, it didnt say what it was specifically in the mag, it was a bit like doing a dot to dot where you saw the pic at the end.

Well funk me, if I didnt learn a number of leassons that day. Firstly, it was supposed to be a stars and stripes banner, but I messed it up and it looked like horseshi t. From that day I realised the quitter in me, 'thats close enough' bodger was born
Secondly, I realised no matter what anyone said, coding is unnatural, like trying to communicate with the dead and best left to really boring people.

The lads what grew up writing code for their speccies now all run their own highly sophisticated bots that are making them a mint for a few minutes work a day.

cant buy a personality though

I use the one I was born with and will continue to do so unless I receive a major bang on the head that alters it completely.

I was a computer programmer from 1984 on a mainframe computer , so the home computer world of the 80s passed me by.

cigarette machines on the outside of off licenses as they were often shut in the day........they would be pulled off the wall in 10 seconds now.

I remember having a black zip up body warmer when I was 5ish

It was covered in sewn on JPS badges, I was like a walking advert for cancer

They are simply called candy sticks now and they don't have the red imitation light bit on the end.

They also relaunched sherbert fountains but stupidly designed the liquorice in a such a way that it doesn't function as a straw.

Now I think about it, you'd find little metal snuff tins scattered all over the place, under hedges or in the gutters

you didnt get 'really' high. For that you used an aerosol and a sock

Round our way the primary use of aerosols was as flame throwers.

In that case mouse you missed out on a very strange and funny world....(I wouldnt try it now btw)
