what has she been doing since passing the crown to may?

has it really taken 3 years to see may for what she is?

Jeez Donny, don't get me started on loathsome. It is turning into a good week

she isnt doing her leadership prospects any good

tbh I think she just wants a top job in the next Cabinet & this is her manouvering. She hasn't got the support for a leadership bid

you could be right there.

are there really gonna be anything up to 20 runners in the stalls for the leadership contest ? surely the real no hopers will drop out before it starts. i know most of the MPs in this parliament have some front but why risk the humiliation of 2 or 3 votes ?
By:

Mafeking: I think in posted something about this a week or so ago. There will be 3 or 4 'serious' contenders; the others are just after a Cabinet post. The ones not serious will drop out early & nail their colours to whoever they think will offer them a top job. I have to say I have always thought (& said) that the Party wouldn't let Bojo become PM; they still mightn't but I'm a lot less sure than I was & that is solely down to a lack of oppo against him

if he gets to stage 2, he will be the next PM. There will be plenty trying to trip him up before then but at the no, he is leading this race by purely & simply being quiet
By:
Baphornet
When: 22 May 19 22:17
well the "plans afoot" I mentioned earlier was enforced (quietly) earlier. There was indeed a vote to force a rule change in regards to a N/C done by secret ballot & put into sealed envelopes. These won't be opened until Friday when the nutcase will be given an option to resign before the envelopes are opened. All very John Le Carre ish, but a bit diff I must admit

I think she's handled all this extremely badly but I do feel sorry for her. When she steps down she could do with a few months of mental therapy to get over what must've been years of intense stress and mental torment. Or just find a retirement home with padded rooms. I think she's tried in her own way to do the right thing, unlike many other politicians who've just used all this to further their own ends, my disgust for Corbyn and the SNP etc knows no bounds.

my phone for some reason will not allow me to post a substantive response to the above; as it keeps telling me that "Betfair took too long to respond" suffice to say I have not one iota of sympathy for the nutcase. I will try & respond in full later

There's a difference between being incompetent and totally deluded (which we both accept) and just being a downright cynical anti democratic lying POS with no respect for the result, and pretending they are the good guys when they are actually entirely in this for their own cynical political goals, like Labour or the SNP. That's the moral difference :)

BTW I caught the awful Emily Maitlis on newsnight last night and she asked some guy a question I heard her raise in her arrogant way a couple of weeks ago, I remember it well as I though it a very strange thing to ask. Basically "is it more important to uphold a democratic result even if we (I.e. the bien pensant elite remoaners like her) believe implementing the result will be bad for the economy".

It's obvious I think that to her that this whole democracy thing is a bad idea if it means things she doesn't want, like Brexit, are the result.

It must be hard to not feel a little sorry for her but I don't in the slightest. When that coward Cameron resigned immediately after the referendum, she wanted to be leader, PM, and from that moment vowed to honour the result blah blah blah. Came up with her own red lines, which one by one were erased. Practically gave up our one true bargaining chip, no deal, to come out with probably the worst deal she could have. Pitifully, bringing the same deal time and time again to the table to get the same knockdown each time and clinging on to PM in a more than desperate manner. One of the worst, if not the worst PM in history and has brought a lot of it on herself imo. Legacy my @rse!

I agree with HGS.

Her red lines were in crayon, her promises, lies.

She never built a Brexit Cabinet. I don't think she has ever had any intention of leaving the EU. She fooled me for quite some time. I thought she had integrity. Now I think she's an EU plant.

hard to feel sorry for somebody who just didnt listen

she seems to have had a staggering lack of awareness

maybe thats an asset at times in politics but not for the top jobs.

Feeling sorry for May ?
That has to be the most stupid comment ever.

She has destroyed huge swathes of society in this country.
The old, the young, the poor and the sick have been demonised .
The gap between the rich and the poor is now a chasm.
She is worse than Thatcher. Not a jot of empathy in her make up.

Everything she has touched has created havoc and destruction.

An vile woman who has always put her egotistical vanity before anything else.

Yet, the constant readers of the Daily Mail, the Sun, the Express and Tekegraph and other right wing corporate/big business owned media, demonise Jeremy Corbyn. A democratic Socialist who would create a fairer Britain.
Who would create a less divisive country and significantly close the massive gap between the rich and the poor.

Which of course is an anathema to the rich, bankers, corporations and the establishment.

Well get used to it. There will be a General Election soon.
Labour will win
And Jeremy Corbyn will be PM.

I wouldn't sorry for her if she was in a croc infested swamp and about to be eaten alive

The crocs would need to be careful they wouldn't go down with some sort of plague though

It's not even worth pickng apart it's such an obvious pile of steaming dog's pavement marmite.
By:

He got one bit right:
"Who would create a less divisive country and significantly close the massive gap between the rich and the poor."
Corbyn probably would achieve this, by making everyone who couldn't get out of his Cuba-Venezuela like sh1thole equally poor.
And his failure supporters would be ok with that, it would placate the chip on their shoulders where their brains should be.

JC:anyone who has read this topic knows my feelings towards the nutcase, what you all may not know is how much I blame the media for her longevity in the job. Take last night for instance, they show a 'sneaky' pic of her supposedly crying; well she wasn't crying, that's just her normal sitting in a car look, but the media at every opportunity, have tried to get public sympathy for her, & some actually fall for it. She deserves no sympathy whatsoever, as Injera has rightly said, she is a plant, & I've said it for nay on 2 years. She didn't start out as one but I truly believe the bureaucratic ancients got to her. I don't even believe she knows herself how she was 'got at' but she changed markedly after negotiations started. Maybe they convinced the remainer in her to conform to their plans; but whatever happened, she became a vessel for Brussels. She became what she is now; a dogmatic & spiteful demonic statue of herself, she listens or learns from no one, if she does ever cry it will be in front of no one! Especially a camera. Parliament has been demeaned by her, she has brought it to it's knees & the idiots have let her in some respects. The country has suffered, business has suffered, & of course she has made our political process a laughing stock throughout the world. Part of her would like the math she has caused, probably due to her bureaucratic tendencies now. Ashe was sent to cause mayhem & achieved it. What she didn't expect was the backlash she has received (eventually) but it took nearly 2 years to see what others knew. Loathsome was mentioned earlier & it was asked why it has taken 3 years for her to wise up; she' not alone, she conned most. Never has there been a better cuckoo planted by an enemy better. You have to give credit to Brussels for that, they used her perfectly. To finish I would just like to add that she conned me as well, not with her 'plan' but she got me doubting my own beliefs. An integrated virus couldn't have performed better! So please, no tears for her, she deserves the gallows

shes had a good press from some that seemed to want to influence her

they couldnt see she had no intent of serving the press, she was just
going down the road she wanted, and if they were gullible enough to help then so be it.

i dont think shes a plant, i just think she wasnt a known bad person, bar all the lost court cases as home sec.

ken clarks comment of a bloody difficult woman has been taken, and used as a badge of honour, which wasnt
the way he intended it, imo

The Asia Bibi case did it for me. By refusing her asylum, May showed her true colours. She was afraid 'extreme' elements here would cause unrest. She caved in.

She compromises on every position she takes.

Donny: what kind of political individual, does what she did the other day? She lied to her Cabinet & tried to get a remain withdrawal agreement through the back door.Asci said on here she wanted an even worse amended bill, and was shot down. Then she amends the agreed bill she made earlier without her Cabinets consent. She's like a loose cannon at the moment who has gone stir crazy. Calling her a nutcase now seems woefully inadequate

despite being a life long tory voter I have to agree that May is without doubt the worst pm ever and I will be glad to see the back of her, what happens after cannot be any worse, everything she as said would not happen as and vice-versa. she is very weak on every position maybe deliberately as Bap suggests. Michael Gove will sort it out.

Michael Gove as Pm? I sincerely hope not! He's the two-faced snake who did his buddy Cameron's bidding and landed us with May in the first place.
By:

I don't blame him for stopping Bojo KC, boris is a not very good politician with a poor grasp of detail and Gove knew this. Of all the names currently being touted Gove stands out for me.

I'm afraid chaps that whoever gets the gig will be a disappointment; because simply there is no good candidate. The person I want doesn't want it & my 2nd choice won't get the support even if he tries

May was put there to sabotage the whole thing

She's now coming to the end of her shelf life? the public are exhausted by her and they need a new scapegoat to blame, but the damage is done and irreversible in my opinion

Whoever gets the "job" next will not be any better, and they will be the next to be hounded out. They were never letting us go.

no remainer shud hav ever been given the gig but they were so sh1tting themselves that Boris eva became leader that they got Gove to do the dirty work to make sure it didnt happen - sums the tories up tbh cos they will do it again to stop the one guy they hav in their party that cud possibly win enough support for them to govern again in near future from leading em LaughLaughLaugh
Sums the whole establishment up for what it is tbh LaughLaughLaugh

The media are now completely silent on this EU election bs?

When it looks like something bad is happening to them they just don't report on it, find something else to report on and pretend the other stuff doesn't exist

Nothing is ever their fault, its a bunch of "racists" fault

i dont think she cared what she had to say and who she had to say it to, just so she could be
remembered by history as the pm that got the brexit deal.

hard, soft, red and white, black and blue, she doesnt care, so long as it was her brexit

but people were not as daft as she thought they looked
