I happened upon his programme last week. He derided the British Empire yet he is quite happy to benefit from it. Perhaps he'd prefer to live in a Bombay slum. His 'humour' appeals to ultra left-wingers who think saying 'fück' etc. is hilarious and can't help but giggle at the mention of 'bum' or 'willy'. I have over a thousand years of ancestry on this Island and to call Kumar as British as me is a bloody disgrace.

But what is most important is that whatever he says , he says it to an audience that knows exactly what they can or cannot laugh at . They are only offended by things that normal people don't find offensive and vice versa

He's not remotely funny but ticks a BBC diversity box so is guaranteed a lot of airtime and will be for the foreseeable future, regardless of the expected relationship the license fee payer expects between being a "comedian" and being able to deliver "comdedy. I liked the website the Daily Mash which has a surrealist off the wall style I like and swings at anything it thinks is funny. I looked forward to the Mash Report. It is however awful, it competes with the Last Leg for most preachy un-humour on TV. Kumar's "Mash Report" is a 30 minute long sanctimonious unfunny left wing rant. He's appeared a few times now on Question Time, what a petulant bitter little leftie he is. Last time he was on he'd obviously pre rehearsed a set piece "scripted" un-comedy routine that was for something that was going to come up (Brexit as usual as I recall) and as soon as the question went vaguely near that, his smug fixed grin came on and he just launched into his laugh free leftie rant. Then other times sat in the huff when others said things his dim little brain couldn't argue with.
If you can be anything you want to be just by "identifying" as it, and the BBC feel obliged to employ people regardless of talent to make sure that identity group get TV coverage to virtue signal their "inclusivity".. How about we invent a new minority group, say me mouse and crisp join it, and demand the BBC employ us, otherwise it's against our "human rights"?

Was having a chat about this the other day really. Think it's a generational thing and hopefully the widespread emboldening of racists is soon to die off naturally.
Fact is during the 70s and 80s attitudes were different. Alf Garnett, Jim Davidson, Bernard Manning etc etc were mainstream TV presences. Likewise, a woman's job was to be pretty and flirty with the guy old enough to be her dad. We had Page 3 girls, Dolly Dealers and every game show had a girl on who's job was little more than to smile coyly to the camera. So, you had a whole generation of adults who would come home from work, sit on the couch, and have this reflected back to them. I feel it's hardly their fault if they are used to treating women as objects and black and Asian people as different. It was their normal.
But that generation is dying off.
Not that this generation's media is perfect. I believe Page 3 girls still exist don't they, though obviously circulation is way down and they're not promoted as in the past where Sam Fox, Linda Lusardi et al were simply famous for getting their whaps out. We have other problems with reality tv, and people thinking their route to success is through doing something stupid or outrageous. But I think definitely in terms of race, the media is much healthier nowadays. And I think in general the younger generations are far less racist than before. You're going to get your few knuckle heads and idiots who are convinced their lack of success comes from the family down the road not their failure to get a single GCSE but in general things are a lot better.
We need more controls on social media as that is the channel that some people are trusting as their primary news source way too much and there is no filter or editorial control there. Looks like they are slowly realising it and governments need to hold them accountable for their content, exactly as a newspaper or tv channel is responsible for the content their journalists present.
I think that's one of the biggest challenges we're facing right now. Certain politicians have been too busy figuring out how to use this lack of regulation to their advantage rather than focusing on the wellbeing of society but it does look like things might be changing.
So yeah, I'm a human being. I do get a bit disgusted by racists and idiots. I'll try to be less impolite if I can. And hopefully we'll all be in a healthier place soon.

What can be done about someone who uses the sort of language pp did to describe an elderly woman who happened to voice concerns abou immigration is im afraid something that perhaps cannot be legislated for, perhaps he will be ashamed when he thinks back over his behaviour , I don't know

Oh, and btw you know precisely NOTHING of the beautiful education I had. It was the cornerstone of many of the great things that came to me. I thank Allah daily that I went to a lovely village primary school where everyone spoke English as a first language, and none of the children were ever encouraged to think they might be Gender Fluid, or Racist just because they were white. Best of all I went to an aspirational Grammar School which gave me so much.
