The Chief Constable should be dragged kicking and screaming to face a Parliamentary Committee to explain this. They obviously don't have enough proper work to do.

Does racism, wife-beating and hatred of anyone 'different to my group' exist in 21st Century Britain? Of course it does, always has and always will do. Do we have laws to deal with the outcome of such crimes. Loads and if a case under them gets taken to court, there is several hundred years of experience, natural justice, precedent, tests, rules on evidence etc to determine the guit or otherwise of the accused.If found guilty, under this magnificent system, arguably the envy of the world despite a few high-profile miscarriages, they are sentanced again, under a system with checks and balances. Now miscreants can be banged up and given criminal records not for their deeds, but for how someone else feels about the words they use British law has never before concerned itself with motive, only intention and act. Something worth remembering when you read the next cab off the rank in the endless parade of pseudo-scientific claims that ‘hate crime has soared’ |

It must have been a truly fantastic experience to have been a fly on the wall when the Detective Chief Superintendent for the division was informed of this particular collar being felt. The newspapers should have been queuing up to submit Freedom of Information requests to learn all the juicy details (and cost) of this investigation. A portion of your Council tax pays for a police presence. Yet where I live, you hardly see them.
By all accounts Essex has 2 police units for domestic, shoplifting, violence etc. Obviously there are more on the roads targeting motorists for monetary purposes If there was 1,000000 houses in Essex and each paid £1,500 in Council tax (both under estimates) that equates to the residents of Essex coughing up at least 75 million per car. Also the police are under NO OBLIGATION to investigate any crime committed on the public. We are basically paying for other peoples protection. |

When a policeman takes office, he has to take an oath under Common Law, which is the law of the land. The Queen takes a similar oath under Common Law.
Yet every policeman acts outside their jurisdiction when they uphold Maritime Law. Which has no place on land. It is superseded by Common Law. By acting under Maritime Law ( another name is Corporate Law) the police are able to impose fines on motorists etc via ACTS passed by Government. Courts also act under Maritime Law. Yet the law of this land is Common Law. Some policeman know this. Most don't. |
