Does racism, wife-beating and hatred of anyone 'different to my group' exist in 21st Century Britain? Of course it does, always has and always will do.

Do we have laws to deal with the outcome of such crimes. Loads and if a case under them gets taken to court, there is several hundred years of experience, natural justice, precedent, tests, rules on evidence etc to determine the guit or otherwise of the accused.If found guilty, under this magnificent system, arguably the envy of the world despite a few high-profile miscarriages, they are sentanced again, under a system with checks and balances.

The “Hate Crime” department of Northamptonshire Constabulary meanwhile are fearless in their pursuit of seemingly hate-filled Television Glove Puppets.

It must have been a truly fantastic experience to have been a fly on the wall when the Detective Chief Superintendent for the division was informed of this particular collar being felt.

The newspapers should have been queuing up to submit Freedom of Information requests to learn all the juicy details (and cost) of this investigation. I'm sure that every Northamptonshire citizen feels safer in their home as a result of this police action.

When a policeman takes office, he has to take an oath under Common Law, which is the law of the land. The Queen takes a similar oath under Common Law.
Yet every policeman acts outside their jurisdiction when they uphold Maritime Law. Which has no place on land. It is superseded by Common Law.
By acting under Maritime Law ( another name is Corporate Law) the police are able to impose fines on motorists etc via ACTS passed by Government.
Courts also act under Maritime Law. Yet the law of this land is Common Law.

I only saw a brief report but I gathered the sister sent the video to the police woman so that she would go after the paedo? If so it seems harsh to punish someone for showing concern. If the police woman never saw it, as she claims, she's done nowt wrong. if she saw it and and said nowt, to protect the sister, she still shouldn't be jailed for it.

Earlier this month it appears that Derbyshire Police descended to a level of cringeworthiness hitherto unimagined. Way beyond the bottom of the barrel.  Even 'Kids Company' appears a sane and credible undertaking in comparison.

I suspected that in my new job, I might be able to get involved in investigating some of these crimes. In my first week, I asked colleagues whether there were any similar cases in the North West.

They told me there were and brought me up to speed on Operation Span, an inquiry which had been launched by Greater Manchester Police following complaints from 47 girls that they had been raped by grooming gangs in Rochdale.

The details were shocking. These cases followed exactly the same pattern of abuse of young white girls by British Asian men.

That evening I took home a DVD of the original interviews and watched the footage of a 15-year-old girl being questioned by police in 2008. She was the teenager the Prosecution Service had labelled not credible and would later become known as Girl A.

The look on her face as she spoke of being raped repeatedly by a gang of men was heart-rending.

But what really stood out was a police officer’s indifference. At one point he even yawned while the girl was sharing excruciatingly painful, intimate information. It was hard to watch, but I was on the edge of my seat. Immediately I knew that this was a case we needed to take up.

There I was thinking that the job of UK Policing was to maintain law and order, keep the peace, detect crime and protect the law-abiding community from the criminals.

How wrong could I be? 

It seems that a part of their mandate now is to proclaim their support of Religious Festivals. Any number of UK Policing Constabularies have mysteriously taken it upon themselves to publicise their support for the Ramadan festival, which began very recently.

I don’t remember this ever coming up in ‘Dixon of Dock Green’, ‘The Sweeney’ and even the wincingly politically-correct ‘Van Der Valk’ hasn’t managed this yet. Doubtless that plot development will come soon enough, and VDV's team will be ordered to go hungry for an episode. 

Anyway, let’s all enjoy a small sample of what the Modern Constabularies do between 9 and 5, on YOUR money.
