Fantastic display of mental strength and courage, a fascinating exchange between player and coach when she fell a break down at 2-3 in the third.
Went out and broke Kerber for 3-3, held for 4-3, broke again for 5-3, Kerber broke for 5-4, but mighty Bianca broke once again for 6-4. What a performance. |

I thought that she might struggle physically, and she did.
However, she is clearly made of strong stuff. Despite the distressed behaviours when her coach spoke to her, she was able to take his words on board. |

i backed her in the final of Auckland last November against Georges where she won the 1st set & then faded after some tough matches getting there. I feared the same was going to happen here when she had an injury break; but she's made of teak

Will be interesting how she now copes with the inevitable increase in media and sponsor attention.

Indian Wells is probably the 6th biggest tournamnt after the slams and WTA end of season finals, but very big and she beat 3 players odds against to win in last 3 rounds.

i think she will be fine; there's something about her that other teens don't have.

Federer sitting pretty already against Thiem, a break up at 3-0 in the first.
By:
i backed Thiem
By:
I usually like to see how things settle before committing. You'll need to hope he makes Federer serve it out and can front run in the second.
By:
He's held to love in his next two service games.
By:
it's a free bet anyway as Bianca has paid for some good times ahead. Fed seems to have a jonah on Thiem
By:
Oi Oi, rebreak, 4-3
By:
They are 2-2 H2H
By:
yeah but he got whooped next match after Fed
By:
naughty Fed
By:
Interesting, Thiem has won both of the tiebreaks they have played to date
By:
Thiem's hold then was the first once a player has gone BP down.
By:
Breaks Fed, back in the mix
By:
gonna be good this
By:
Now a one set shoot out
By:
he's 2.8 now
By:
Getting to the business end now
By:
great game to win that one
By:
No margin for error for Thiem now
By:
or Fed
By:
Serving first you always have a second chance, on Thiem's racquet now though
By:

Good to see one of the young guns beat Roger in a final
By:
you have to hand it to Fed though; what a guy to push him so hard at his age
By:
roll on Miami!
By:
Roger is a freak of nature, no one else can put their body through what his has been through, a quite remarkable human being.
