That's because your sitting nice and safe at home ! However if your a copper who has been forced to go on patrol on your own, I'd imagine when going to a knifing or shots fired situation a gun would be a big fxxking help !!!

It was that way when Britain had the death penalty , the vast majority of criminals didn’t carry guns in case something went wrong either on purpose or by accident

We could bring back the death penalty , by firing squad

Now the death penalty is where I would not like to become like America

the police force mirrors life now far more than it used to. There are still some cops who will 'have a go' just like the public has it's mixers. I have no problem with them being armed tbh, and it may work as there doesn't seem to be as many guns about as there used to be?

In actual fact it was Italian immigrant criminals who introduced knife crime to England , in the 1920s ?
Thereabouts , it was completely alien to the English criminals at that time

They are highly experienced with firearms, and other ways of "taking out" aggressors.

Their level of personal fitness, has to be as good as it gets, and they are already on the payroll so their cost is zero!

The only thing is, that they would need to have a more "low key" image, other than fatigues, which could otherwise be unsettling, and provocative!

AP - I read that their level of fitness is pretty poor nowadays, so might not be a bad idea to get them out on the street - could have a good march through the town centres

Crippen, the idea that the police can pop people off at will then be self investigating, outwith a legal system, is so ludicrous and idiotic it doesn't really need expansion on the topic. I doubt hitler would even have signed off on an ex judicial murder squad without recourse to the law. (Yes I realise the in effect repitition). But I will comment.

Given the huge amount of (due to tech) evidence of how the (of obvious limited IQ) US police basically execute people for no f*ckin reason..

Look up say "Harry Stanley", the innocent man shot dead for carrying a table leg, home from the pub.

Even if he HAD been carrying a shotgun (he wasn't) basic competence would have made it obvious he could effectively engage at about max 20 feet, a trained firearms officer could do it, in that scenario, to 200 ft with no risk to themself .. the WORST case scenario they were fine, but they decided blowing his brains out from behind was the easy option. According to "Crippen" they shouldn't even have been investigated, just got a nod through from a superior with a prejudicial interest in smoothing it over.
