Just one thing, no investigations to follow for officers carrying out their duty.
The judgement of their superior officer should be final in deciding if shooting was justified.

That's because your sitting nice and safe at home ! However if your a copper who has been forced to go on patrol on your own, I'd imagine when going to a knifing or shots fired situation a gun would be a big fxxking help !!! |

Agree the spivs did cut spending anxious but let's be fair they've never been properly funded anyway. More in foreign aid than on Police in England and Wales. How can that ever be right

I wouldn't fancy being a copper walking the streets these days without a gun.
No wonder they keep such a low profile. I saw a copper back down when confronted by a thug at a hospital once. It was a pathetic sight. I thought then why don't we arm the police? |

Arming them will make no difference. "thugs" will find out who they are and deal with them another way, not talking having a shoot off in a hospital either, the said "thug" will find out where he lives and target his loved one's
Cops might as well just pack the game up imo. We ain't living in 1960s villages anymore, criminals are smarter and much more ruthless today. |

It was that way when Britain had the death penalty , the vast majority of criminals didn’t carry guns in case something went wrong either on purpose or by accident

the police force mirrors life now far more than it used to. There are still some cops who will 'have a go' just like the public has it's mixers. I have no problem with them being armed tbh, and it may work as there doesn't seem to be as many guns about as there used to be?
