Hello, I received the above warning from Betfair warning me that I should not have made a post called" Lloyd Russell-Moyle: Brighton Labour MP announces he is HIV positive in Commons speech"

Firstly, why in the world have you sent me this utterly ridiculous warning, what exactly is the warning about, what comment is offenseive? which terms and conditions have been broken - please be specific.

I made a thread about an MP who had just appeared on National Television to announce he was HIV - and then in the sub header it said why he had announced this - to draw attention to public health cuts.

Absolutely nowhere whatsoever in that thread did I at any point in time make any offesive comments about this mp whatsoever - so I completely reject your warning and I would also like an apology.

Thirdly, if you go back and actually bother to read every single post in that thread that I made you will see this.

Fourthly, when threads are reported to you, can you please at the very least take 10 seconds to read what it is that is actually being reported and then make an appropriate response, this is no a appropriate response, you're warning me about make a thread title that was just made National News - an MP had just announced he was HIV - it was not some rumour spread, please check this out online by simply typing his name into google.

Lastly - you have to understand that there are some fellow posters on the forum who are reporting every single post that certain posters make simply because they do not like that poster, it's a bit sad but that is what they do, which is why I urge you to actually read what is that is being reported rather than send me these daft, meaningless warnings.
___

I think we all know which sad act has reported that thread - are TSE Global robots, they could not have possibly even have read the thread, they've litereally sent me a warning without knowing wtf they're warning me about, you could not make it up, I think we all know which sad posters with no life clearly has gone to the trouble to report this.

Think about the level of ridiculousness here, posting that an MP is HIV after he just announced it to the entire country apparently is not acceptable, someone fetch the head in hands man for this company.

Post your reply

I wont let this drop.

I have sent a follow up email with the suspected name(s) of the poster who has also been getting STUDYFORM's post constantly removed. This poster wont get away with it for much longer.

The guy stood up in the House Of Commons as bold as brass and announced how he was 'sexually active' in his younger days in a camp as christmas voice heavily implying what he's been up to as if it's some sort of badge of honour yet it can't be discussed on an anonymous forum, shocking stuff and more outrageous control.

I got a warning for things that I wrote about the SNP.
One comment was OTT but the rest were fair and factual.
I got no response to my query.

The standards should be factual on sensitive issues and in the public domain should be a free pass imo. this particular subject seems rather tame by chit chat standards given it's all over every news channel.

they do seem a little sensitive about language and stuff. I take it this is run by an American company? I have noticed some English - acceptable words are starred out

The threads gone, - it was reported, the forum is not actively moderated so the only way any post or thread can be removed is if a person reports it, or several different usernames belonging to a poster.

There seems to be a great deal of automation here, it seems like once a post or thread has been reported a certain amount of times it is automatically deleted, that can only the possible explanation - because surely a person cannot be stupid enough to actually act apon a reported thread where literally nothing in the terms and conditions have been breached or even remotely close and then send dumb automated email replies without stating anything specific whatsoever.

I've sent my reply to two seperate email addresses, the one in which it came from and the forums email address

Will also send my reply to betfair directly about tse unless I receive an apology and retraction. Also sent them the suspected name.

OP.....you say that we all know the sad act who has reported this.....name and shame, as I don't......what a sad individual he/she must be....and that is being polite!
Secondly, it is just another example of the level of intelligence of those that Betfair employ to do this "moderation" job on the forum.....posts/threads being taken down, left right and centre.......restricting harmless free speech/banter, in most cases imo.
As I have asked before......who moderates (manages) the mods??.....Betfair, let's have an answer please.

As the saying goes......if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.......oooooh, is that now considered an offensive comment in certain over sensitive quarters I wonder? Cry

p.s OP.....just read your post above.....maybe you are right and it is just an automated system based on how many complaints they get........how f.......d up is that system for a company worth a fortune.....says a lot about how they value their customers if the case.....

Well done Scandi for posting this, it's a total joke. Many many good lads have been banned on here for absolutely nothing. Used to be a great laugh on here with lots of banter. Now you write something and wait for ages for a response. Tbf chit chat is about the best. The football forum is pretty much dead most of the time. If the mods ban everyone it a bit like Turkeys voting for Christmas. Mind you as Betfair is a profit based company do they really care if the forum is no more

btw ufcdan.......I can join you in experiencing being an English lad in a Glasgow school in the 70's........not a pleasant experience at all with no bigger brother to look after me either, being the eldest......most of it kicked off on a Monday morning after we tonked em at football.......,landed up learning to  speak with a convincing Glaswegian accent when I moved schools.....Hutchinsons to Eastwood High......however, is where I learnt at a young age that turning the other cheek was not a solution......you just get smacked in the other one!!.......was a good life lesson that I have kept with me to this day :)

If you managed to post without someone coming back and insulting you using foul language it was unusual.

Laugh yes layemall 70s Glasgow certainly toughened you up. When we moved back down to Potters Bar in Hertfordshire I had a choice of two schools Mount Grace and Brookmans park. The education department said Mount Grace had enough of a hooligan element so I was sent to Brookemans park with the posh kids. In my last year a teacher walked up to me and said don't bother coming back after Christmas, we won't be looking for you. We'll tell the education department you have moved back to Cotland where it was legal to leave school on your 16th birthday Laugh

I am willing to be banned permantly if it means constantly pinging emails to them to get to the bottom of this charade, couldn't care less if they did ban me, not being given a warning for literally no reason, they need to do their job properly or Betfair can lease out the running of this forum to another company, laymall, wouldn't say, it'd only result in thread removal, but he's already posted on the thread pretending it's an outrage when he knows full well. Same as study's posts, someones constantly trying to get him banned as well given how many of his posts on the diabetes threads is deleted.

I did correct it dan....as one would when re-reading.....shortly-ish afterwards........the key difference of a Scottish education some might say....one is given the ability to be able to correct, when a mistake has been made.......hmmmmmm....a discussion point on another thread maybe......the difference (if any) of a Scottish or English education.....Wink

dan we had the opposite in my school in kent - a chinese lad moved up to Glasgow with a normal kent accent and when he came back he had the thickest Glaswegian accent lol we took the pi$$ but he wasn't bullied as he was a well liked lad. Btw dan do you celebrate thanksgiving? we do it here, I imagine there are a lot of expats here in the UK who celebrated it. I think it should be added as a holiday in the UK - food, booze and no presents to worry about - what's not to like?

Lots of times....they were two or three pronged...some could have you in tears after just two hits......others were a joke(move hands away and they would hit their leg with it....whole class bursts into laughter).......some took a pride in their ability to be good at it.....the pe and maths teacher for starters.....the history teacher I remember kept his in a vice...I assume to keep it stiff...he was useless though!!.....oh how we digress from the thread topic....common theme could be the injustice of it all though!!
