It doesn’t seem to be the whole story why would he have acted in that way it just seems strange

Nothing seems proportionate where media coverage is concerned .

I think we need to establish who is the victim here

1. The passenger squeezed into a window seat seeing his emergency exit blocked or his way to the toilet\exit blocked by a physically challenged individual travelling on ryanair !
2. The passenger physically challenged given an aisle seat with another able bodied passenger squeezed inside of her also with a ryanair ticket
3. The other passengers who were delayed and had to listen on their ryanair bookings
4. The ryanair staff poorly trained under stress to get in and out of airports.

If there is an emergency people will panic
They will clamber over anyone in their way

So for me ryanair have H&S problem
....and this incident is down to them

The bottom line is that we use budget airlines because they're cheap.
If they have to cater for the disabled and obese, then they'll become more expensive.
Or the disabled will have to pay more for special services.
Which is the way I'd go.

Personally if someone called me a horrible white man I wouldn't be offended.  But if someone called me an ugly, lazy, tight-fisted bastard I would be offended.  If someone called me an ugly, white, lazy, tight-fisted bastard I would be offended too, but I wouldn't be any more offended with the addition of the word white.

I realise that black and gay has been used as a derogatory term, whereas white hasn't, due to history, religion and being in the minority, so it's not the same.  But as I see things we are far more accepting of race and sexual orienation than we were 30 years ago, and so we should be approaching the time where being called black or gay should not cause offence in the same way as being called white is. 

Racism and homophobia amongst Muslims is still mainstream though.

The guy was utterly offensive . Disgusting  and unacceptable behaviour.  This was a prime example of hate crime.
His racial verbal  abuse ( plus his threats of physical assault), was enough for him to have been thrown off the plane.
Other airlines have done exactly this for less.

I didn't say 2018, I said approaching the time.  That could be 2050.  In an ideal world where people are regarded as equal and have confidence in their own being calling someone a white **** should have the same impact as calling someone a black ****.
