If one can't discuss things without getting hot under the collar, then how can that person use reason to draw their conclusions?

Dr C
My wife's GP who is a Diabetes Specialist told her that in her case it was hereditary, and this was before the other 4 siblings were diagnosed. Clearly it's not hereditary in other cases. |

The difference between Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes should always be recognised.

crystal, as Denzil said earlier, the same lifestyles and diets will have the same effects on the body.
One of the links I gave early clearly shows that some people are more susceptible to S2 than other people are. It's to do with their ability to handle dietary fat. If that's hereditary then I stand corrected, but the hereditary angle doesn't account for the many new cases of diabetes occurring in S2 free families. |

This is the link I mentioned there^.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd8QFD5Ht18 It's heavy going. Now you really need to get to grips with what he's telling us here. I'm not endorsing his methods of dealing with it by the way. But his description of what causes insulin resistance should be taken on board if you really want to know what S2 diabetes is. |

Agree that's the one I bookmarked last time plenty of stop starting the video here but worth it.

dan trust me mate what Dr C and I have put up on here is the way to go Slimming World type way is designed to have people going round in circles that is how they make their money with repeat subscriptions to an unsustainable way of life.
Gave what you said Denzil some thought, should of spotted the clues. Most of the women in my area bar two have lost the weight and are putting it back on you'd think Slimming World would have some standards/weight restrictions for their consultants but then I guess they could get into to trouble with employment rules |
|
By:
dan just do this from now (without cheating mind) and see what happens over the next fortnight.
Drop all dairy, meat, fatty fish and added fats like oils (obviously excluding what's already in the foods) reign in sweets and sugary drinks, drink a bit more water or diluty if you don't like water. I'd be amazed if you didn't drop a stone in that time it's far easier than it sounds and you don't have to starve just eat til you've had enough,if at any time your pins will let you go for a wander do it but it's not essential, thank me in a fortnight. |
|

At the very least, dan, before doing this. Ask your diabetes specialist and/or dietician.
I'd be interested in their response to this regimen. |

Thanks for all the advice and offers of help if somewhat confusing
First thing I've done is tell Slimming World they won't be seeing me again. As for diet I will increase my vegetable intake although I'm quite good. A lot of my meals are vegetable based on the meat front I eat mainly chicken and 5% fat mince. As for my carbs I shall moderate them and have already switched to wholemeal rice and pasta. Also I apparently need to not eat to much fruit in one sitting. Again SW free food so would have a banana, satsuma and an apple with a bowl of porridge. My bloods are 6.7 I get to see the diabetes nurse in three months time so hopefully I can get my blood sugars down by then. My knees are shot but I do try and walk each day. Given my weight the app I'm using say I should do 6,000 steps a day which appears to be quite easily achievable. Hopefully small changes will give me some positive results. Again thanks. |
|
By:
No bother dan seems like you wouldn't need to make too much of an adjustment to eat similar to me when I was dropping early weight.
The advice I would give is to drop the Chicken and Mince altogether and up the starches and you'll see a big difference which is contrary to almost all advice you'll read. |
|
By:
I could quite easily be vegetarian but that usually involves a lot of carbs

|

The carbs aren't an issue on very low fat in fact it's extremely difficult for your body to store them as fat,the only type of carbs which are easyish to store are those from fruit - fructose.

For this dietary remedy to be effective, the fat has to be cleared out of the glucose receptors.
All meat, fish and dairy is fat. Vegetable oil is liquid fat, nuts are full of fat. Avocado the health food is fat. You have to stop eating fat, or your efforts will have limited results. |
|
By:
Without doubt the dropping of the meat and dairy were the key for me which I found out through practical experience.
The use of animal proteins in trying to lose weight definitely comes from the old bodybuilding ways of trying to preserve muscle whilst using only fat for energy, this is very difficult for someone with insulin issues as shown on the Dr Ted Naiman video their insulin levels are through the roof all day whatever. Some other videos I watched said fasting insulin levels can be around 5-7 times of that of a healthy person this definitely was one of my own issues which meant I couldn't switch between fuel sources,i.e insulin was always too high so burning glucose for fuel not fat when a healthy person may be able to switch between within 12 hours. Alot of people forget/don't know that proteins produce insulin spikes similar to sugars which come with a large storing hormonal response which is the storing one (insulin) and not the healing fat loss one (human growth hormone) which can only be produced when living glycogen is low, insulin is very low and glucose receptors aren't clogged (which is the only way insulin levels can drop in the first place). |

The 11.19 Dr C post and the above and is what YouTube trainers and many poor personal trainers don't understand and the idea has been nicked by the weight loss industry as they see some of the amazing results that 'fitness' athletes have had,forgetting/not knowing that many are on drugs/stimulants and don't have the hormonal issues in the first place which is the REAL ISSUE for the pre diabetic and type 2 sufferers.

NHS now have to admit they can reverse type 2 the way to achieve and maintain this are on this thread and they aren't from mainstream sources and are based on science from the 1930s.

Posted 3 times. All my posts IN RESPONSE to crippen are being deleted. Why? Anyway - every time it goes, I'll repost it. Otherwise Crippen will pretend there is no response and continue his crusade. |

Completely censored.
NOTE TO MODERATOR. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THIS POST UNLESS YOU (TSEG) CAN TELL ME WHAT RULES HAVE BEEN INFRINGE - IT IS A RIGHT TO REPLY Throughout this thread, my posts have NEVER said you cannot reverse PRE-DIABETICS, possibly SOME diabetics, and todays report and news, clearly states RECENTLY DIAGNOSED diabetes COULD be reversed in SOME PEOPLE. You are SO tied up with your own 'stuff' and conspiracy acquired 'nonsense' that you can't be bothered to read what anyone opposing nearly everything you write, when they do, you get their posts removed. So just to reiterate, ALL I've ever said on here, which I'm still saying is TAKE PROPER MEDICAL ADVICE and don't listen to you or people who are hooked on an idea that isn't ratified by anyone who didn't come up with it. That full-blown diabetes isn't reversible, and it isn't. All the stuff that you and Denzil have pontificated about might well be helpful to SOME people, but I will still maintain, you don't know who and they need to see experts. And that most of them will be PRE-diabetic and not fully established. Today's news is a trial of a slimfast type diet to lose weight and the weight loss will help. Once again it is primarily for pre and new T2 diabetics. Nothing I've said has been wrong. You are no more right than before. All the evangelical twaddle you've put on here is still just that. Now go ahead, report the post (again). I'll just repost it. |

Even the NHS have been embarrassed into admitting they've been misleading people all along.
80 years too late. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-46363869 Anyone who takes the trouble to investigate their illness themselves, always questions the advice handed out by this shabby organisation. |

Rubbish.
Dr Crippen • November 30, 2018 5:46 PM GMT Even the NHS have been embarrassed into admitting they've been misleading people all along. No they haven't. Show where they have. You just come up with stupid statements like this. You make things up. You say people have written things they never wrote. |

It's remarkable how people put their GPs on a pedestal, when in many cases after seeing one patients come away with a prescription that they might as well throw in the bin.
