A doctor who I never met phoned me to say my current medication was a dangerous combination. Candersertin (excuse spelling) and Naproxen. Wouldn't mind but I'd been on it for at least ten years.

When: 03 Dec 18 21:15
Yes blood pressure. I take Lapnsoprozole as well. Doctors tried to get me off Naproxen but I'm crippled within two or three weeks of not taking it. Yep not good for the kidneys but then neither is being confined to a chair not living life.

The final insult for the patient after taking prescription drugs, is when the doctor prescribes a drug to try to counteract the deleterious effects of those drugs that he's already prescribed for his patient.

I kid you not, this practice is commonplace.

Many years ago my step fathers son died, he was diagnosed with cancer. As he was found at home and a day had gone by he had to have a post mortem. They found no trace of cancer, it was the cncer medication that caused his heart to fail Crazy

Cases like that are a national scandal ufcdan but the NHS doesn't get the bad publicity like a private practice would.

Much is made of homeopathy being ineffective, yet many NHS drugs are too and dangerous into the bargain.
I've never of anyone being harmed from homeopathy or acupuncture.
Not that I'm endorsing either.

Could do but could be hard to sustain long term, can be done easier dropping dairy, meat, fish, eggs and fats.
If you like chilli just cook a huge pot of bean based chilli using cans of kidney beans, pinto beans, mixed beans or chickpeas add onions, mushrooms, canned tomatoes, peppers if you like but the important part is the beans,I've just done one that'll last 2 days then just eat til you're full having a bit rice, jacket potatoes or whatever drink plenty water and you'll lose weight sustainably.
Or ditch the starches live on bean chilli and veg and it'll happen quicker just a suggestion but you won't go hungry and you won't lower your metabolic rate long term.

I also have a very nice chocolate pea protein that you can drink at anytime which will also help stick it out and it doesn't spike insulin like other proteins so it'll be beneficial.

Doctors must be astonished at diabetic patients who refuse to lose weight. And others who simply don't care about their condition.

I know a grossly overweight diabetic such as that who has to shoot insulin.
He was telling me about this slap up meal with all the trimmings he enjoyed the other day.

An old saying ''there's nowt so **** as folk.''

My blood sugar reading this morning was 4.7 my lowest yet. When I went to the GP first time it was 24, but have completely changed diet,I don't know if it means I am still diabetic but all my readings are in the 5.0 - 5.7 range in the last week.

Thanks for all the help guys, without your input I would be on 3+ metformin daily.

Cheers Uble that is my lowest reading two hours after it was 5.0 so will see what happens it will take time to get on top of it back to the doc after Christmas so will see then how it's going, but I am determined to beat it,as it can lead to so many other complications.

As an aside the amount of people in their late 50's early 60's in bad shape is quite alarming,I have been taking special notice since I was diagnosed.

How true illness is rife directly caused by our diets and the advice forced upon the unsuspecting public, the more you get into researching and practically trying things out the more you realise what's going on with confusion and trust (in GP's) being their main weapons.

When: 05 Dec 18 15:55
Yes G Hall, I take it that reading is after fasting?

You see I have a friend who shoots insulin and he gets readings as low as 4 in the mornings before he's eaten, only to be into double figures for most of the day.
The low reading was simply the insulin taking effect.

You should cut back further on fat anyway.

No need to worry about those sort of carbs dan they don't produce the hormonal reaction that promotes growth and very difficult to overeat especially if you eat in a time restricted window.
Also Beans (especially),pulses, legumes, peas etc. have an effect on Glucose called 'The second meal effect' which slows down subsequent glucose spikes as time goes on as your gut bacteria improves through regular feeding of bean like products it is more effective.
Those curries look like good ideas to me the link below explains better than I can.
