I simply came back on STUDYFORM'S comment that he regarded himself as normal and he blew his top.

I can't see what's upset DIE LINKE either, he seems another very odd character.

We often see strange behaviour like this from those on the left. They're either off their rockers or skint, one of the two.

Rory Stewart took over the job in January and said he will quit if things don't improve within 12 months I think.

He points out that G4S do run some very successful prisons. He also says Govt owned prisons have problems too. I don't doubt the bloke and feel he's a man of integrity.

The riot in Brum in 2016 lead to a wing being closed. Has it reopened yet? I know thaat Stewart is seeking to reducing the numbers there.

No mention of prisoners' behaviour by the critics of the Govt. We're too soft and that is a major part of the problem.

to get a prisoners sentence increased he would have to be charged by the police and go back to court, then a lot of the punishment runs concurrent not consecutive plus assaults on staff are often considered not in the public interest to pursue due to cost of trial.

I would take his statement and frame it the only way he can make it look better is to manipulate the figures and statistics.

Yes lockup that had crossed my mind it’s not practical to try and take them all to court for bad behaviour

But if there is any form of violence then they should
I doubt that happens

Well perhaps you can answer then pineapple , what punishment do the prisoners receive for taking drugs and being violent and disruptive ?

i believe they are forced to read all your posts on the betfair forum. if that doesnt confuse them and calm them down nothing will. Laugh

who would deny that?

i see you are in good form, the net is full as ever Wink

lfc 1971 if you watched the recent documentary on Durham you would have seen how the system operates those at the top of the pecking order get those at the bottom to take the rap for their offences in return for spice or a phone call on a mobile.

Thanks swagman I am glad to see that at least some thinkers such as yourself still appreciate good common sense

It us quite easy to monitor everything that happens in prison , only in that way will prisoners be safe from threats
In prison if is the prison authorities who are.  or should be at the top of the pecking order

Once that is understood then things will begin to improve for everyone

they have cameras but it showed prisoners covering them up or spraying stuff on them then becomes one persons word against the other.

Damage to cameras ? no tv for the individual
If it happens again , no tv for anyone on that landing
If it happens again , no tv for the entire prison
For a set time , perhaps a month
Then try again

your ideas have all been tried mate and worked years ago before privatisation and staff cuts but now prisoners virtually run all prisons very hard to regain control then be riots etc guy on tv dinner time said he had to psyche himself up for 30mins prior to his start time just to go in.
By:
lfc1971
When: 20 Aug 18 17:02
well obviously it has not been tried in any of these prisons today , in the experience of any of our prisoners today in any of our modern prisons
I would suggest they might try and do so

I don’t care too much if they riot , double the sentence at least of
anyone who does
ok with that ?

Could be genuine of course, but what an argument for an increase in wages.

Where did I "Blow my top"?
I don't see any blown tops!
Just you being 90% wrong (minimum) about everything crippen.

lfc - for just about the most complete idiot on the forum, you mention other forum users (in the 3rd person) in disparaging terms, in your posts rather too often.
You had no need to address me at all, but can't help it, as it is all you have.
I should feel pity really.

In fact, crippen, that isn't even good fishing.
Which takes into account how fishing is the last vestige of the truly weak.

The exposure of the awful conditions inside prisons and the assaults that go seriously unchallenged, must put off a lot of boarders off returning.
They don't call them prisoners now by the way.

So I say more of the same.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to prison officers bleating about being hard done by, if they did their jobs properly the prisons wouldn't be full of drugs.

No longer referred to as 'screws' . I think the new term is 'mules' !

Absolutely no doubt in my mind that the majority of drugs are taken into prisons by prison workers. My solution to the violence/drugs in prisons would be to put the perpetrators into solitary for 24 hours a day on a reduced diet.Once released back into the prison population if they transgress again they'd be humanely put down.
