I'm not sure if the OP is wanting a troll but I'll maybe bite: Ok I will FULL BITE ENGAGED!!!! GO! :
Anyone who is mass shooting a load of pigeons not doing any damgage to them is probably not right in the head. I've no time for such people. If by "railway bridge" I'm guessing right he's plinking off station roosting pigeons on girders? I know how they sit. How "manly". How "sporty". Not. People who kill animals for straight fun are imho sick in the head. BTW I'm a very good shot myself, I could shoot the pee hole out of trilby's whang at 100 paces :) But the difference is at least he apparently eats them, it's not out of sadism :) But I love wood pigeons, you bastid! Everyone knows we voted for Brexit to get the black ones out! Err.. Ok JOKE there, FACTS :) What I find funny is when a feral pigeon is obviously offspring off a beautiful one, you know, white, better plumage. I feel a kindred spirit, what with being a gorgeous loner and such :) |

Lady Faye... i dont think he'll give a flyin fck
JC... i know he won't give a flyin fck |
By:
I agree entirely with JC. Shooting pigeons to eat them is one thing but only a **** would shoot them for kicks.
By:
Yup, I agree with Mac.
The SNP introduced an airgun licence a year and a half ago and yer man would be facing bird ( ) if he did that up here. |
By:
W4nks like hi prob introduced the £70 odd I have to pay for my 5 year licence.
May the pigeon sheet on him heavily from great heights and may their excrement enter EVERY orifice of his ![]() |

By:
Shooting pigeons you aren't going to eat in their roost in a bridge isn't "sport" it's sadism.

It's like poking a rifle into your window as you watch Eastenders.
(The one where JC, new stall owner, pulls Kat Slater, JC is bored of pigeon snuff talk and wants a bit of rough cockney:)) |

A dream [almost] of mine.
In my old age. Living high up on a roof somewhere. A total recluse. Getting by on a meagre diet enhanced with freshly caught and cooked pigeons. |
By:
Actually, despite all the debate, I'm doubting that this ever happened!

And how spiteful?
If he's not going to eat the damned things. Total fruit cake. |

It's happening Lady FV, a small town between Bradford and Leeds.
Your interpratation of the "shooter" would be correct ericster. |

The Pudsey Pelleter?

By:
I live in Pudsey, if I ever saw anyone abusing a pigeon I'd chin the ****.
By:
no where near you kenny
By:
Should be reported to the polis.
By:
If it is indeed Pudsey, that's very interesting, as the most prominent gun shop in Yorkshire (to the best of my knowledge) is Henry Krank,
at which I have spent far too much! Whatever you want, they've got it, including "Black Powder", so I'm guessing this is where your associate would have bought his! |
By:
No where near Pudsey Lady F
By:
i say no where...may be 15 miles
By:
what do pigeons contribute?
By:
I say no where...may be 15 miles
How can a town between Bradford and Leeds be 15 miles from Pudsey? |
By:
Not quite literally.... junction 26 M62
By:
Unbelievable!
So you are talking of Birstall or Cleckheaton? If that's between Bradford and Leeds, so are Denby Dale and Holmfirth! I wouldn't fancy driving with you navigating, but anyway, why the secrecy? ![]() |
By:
at least with him navigating you would have a gun in the car if you got attacked.

Two adorable baby pigeons who stowed away on Britain's biggest warship have been flown back ashore to be looked after at a RSPCA rescue centre.
The chicks were discovered in a hidden nest soon after the ship set sail for the US from Portsmouth Naval Base on Saturday. The pair of motherless birds have been named F-35 and Lightning after the fighter jets which will be tested during the ship's deployment to the USA and are being cared for by the RSPCA in West Hatch near Taunton, Somerset. The fluffy pigeons were found huddled together by a sailor who heard tweeting coming from a remote ledge high up on one of the ships' boat decks. The birds were then taken by a navy Merlin MK4 helicopter from 845 Naval Air Squadron. Finally they were taken back to RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset, where they were handed over to the RSPCA. Someone cares........ |
By:
No wonder the RSPCA can't find the funds to concentrate on proper habitat creation/maintenance and predator control.
By:
They've tons of funds like Cat's Protection but like to keep much of it in the bank.
By:
Kenny - as I think you may know, my problem is more with priorities for expenditure, that any mix of expenditure and savings. An organisation that is beginning to lose its way.
By:
See what you mean, blackbarn. They're always crying the poor tale when I phone them, same as CP, who it turned out had about 12 million invested when the Icelandic banking crisis happened about 10 years ago.
By:
Well, I did not expect ever to be in vague agreement with you Kenny. The problem that all these organisations face is that, of necessity, they need to keep their core audience/contributors happy and paying, but explain that huge numbers of nice creatures are unnecessary and/or surplus to requirements and need to be eliminated.
The RSPB have a different problem. Their mandate is clear, but their "elephant in the room" is that they need to eliminate large numbers of mammals and other birds to protect species requiring specific protection. They do this by what they call "predator control" This is perfectly reasonable by any reasonable standards but of course killing things to protect things is not what folks expect the RSPB to do. I will dig out a list of RSPB Predator numbers killed just in case anyone doesn't think it happens. Some of the numbers (Mink!!) are ridiculously and shamingly low for an organisation committed to protecting birds!!!!! |
