1 Chris Evans ... the shouty man. I hate everything about him. Annoying when we b&b somewhere they have him on whilst you’re having breakfast. Just play the records and shut the f up. Paid a fortune (as they all are), I would pay never to hear him again.
2 O’Brien .... give it a rest man. I remember seeing him on Christmas University challenge a while back and he really is not as smart as he makes out. Also a mouth breather. A good face for radio as they say. 3 Vine. He’s a bit simple or perhaps he thinks we are simple and of course shockingly overpaid. |

By:
when he first started he was good now hes rearly bad has about 4 callers a hour and got a very silly laugh
|
|
By:
With you mad dog..and those annoying fcking stupid noises he frequently plays ad nauseaum like some kind of "wacky " American radio show.

By:
I like the stupid noises ... best bits of his show.

Can I add northern nutter Shaun Keaveny (R6 Music Breakfast Show) as, like Evans, is a self obsessed failed stand up that thinks he is extremely funny.
|
|
By:
Racing ..Glad we're on the shame hymn sheet.I also HATE Evans with a passion and only tune in when the delightful Sara Cox stands in for him which unfortunately is not often enough. And whilst i'm on a moanathon..his newsreader..Moira Stuart..should have been retired decades ago..her false laugh makes me want to puke.

Only 3 allowed?
How ever will we manage to squeeze Doton Adebayo, Stephen Nolan and Nicky Campbell in too? |
|
By:
Have to add the nauseating Steve Allen to the list. Drivel, drivel, drivel.
|
|
By:
And in the worst news since Brexit, 6Music have changed their schedules. Radcliffe and Maconie have been binned off to some unlistenable weekend shift to be replaced by Keaveny (he could be ok), Lauren Laverne going to breakfast (seems completely unsuited to me) and the utterly unlistenable Mary Ann Hobbs now has her own mid-morning show.
Just terrible. |
|
By:
I don't know what qualifies a presenter for being the worst, but certainly the rudest and the most biased is James O'Brien.
I can't think why anyone would bother phoning in if they held a different view to his. |
|
By:
racing cert right steve allen is another useless presenter keeps on saying hes got the most listeners hes on at 4.00 am been there over 30 years if he was any good would have got better time slot

General comment about radio, rather than any presenter.
I listen to 5 Live, but someone there,eg a producer, seems to think that regularly playing commentators calling (shouting!) a previous sporting event is exciting or interesting.IT IS NOT! It's irritating, deafening, boring and lazy broadcasting. Whenever it comes on,which is often,I change to another channel. |

To be fair to Steve Allen he keeps going for three hours without anyone to help him.
He doesn't take callers, so most of the tripe he spouts must be off the top of his head. I remember once, he took to task a shop assistant who had been less than friendly towards him. He gave out the name of the store, the time and date he was served and the position of the till where he was served. If that isn't trying to get someone the sack then I don't know what is. Not very nice. |
|
By:
don't listen to radio anymore and not sure if these people still on radio 1 but these disc jockeys are appalling- dlt ( aka the hairy cornflake ) , andy peebles, and peter powell.
|
|
By:
Radio Five Live breakfast show with Nicky Campbell and some lady exchanging patter tends to grate. It simply doesn't work.
I don't how who finds that entertaining. |
|
By:
Steve Wright an absolutely shocking omission!!!
There aren't very many I like, so I listen to BBC4extra most of the time (no presentation, no news), well, after popmaster - Ken Bruce is alright. |
|
By:
I listen to LBC a lot. James O'Brien does tend to interrupt and can be very rude. Although not rude, in recent weeks Maajid Nawaz seems to be adopting the tactic of interrupting the callers he disagrees with.
That said, I like listening to both of them as they cover intersesting topics. Ian Payne, for me, is the least knowledgeable. I find Nick Ferrari extremely irritating. He hosts the 'flagship' show yet is forever stubling over his words, mispronouncing them or mishearing callers. |
|
By:
I used to work at LBC many years ago. Funnily enough some of the presenters didn't seem to have a very high opinion of their listeners. I doubt if that's changed much.
|
|
By:
James O'Brien bragged on the BBC's One Show that you don't have to be right in order to win an argument.
He does this all the time by stopping people from making their points. Never letting them get much past the first sentence in most cases before he picks them up on something trivial and ruining their flow. Quite frankly, who wants to listen to that? It's not a regular call in show, it's more like a ''who's going to dare to come on here and disagree with the mighty James O'Brien show?'' |
|
By:
Take Farage in comparison.
He lets all who phone in have their say. That's why he gets so many callers with different views to his. That's how it should be. We then hear both sides to the argument. |
|
By:
Nigel Farage does treat all his callers with respect.
I think the abuse JOB gives him is a bit childish but this and the way he interacts with callers is all part of the routine. I believe he's done some stand-up so he can probably pull off a 'comedy' act that other presenters wouldn't be capable of even if they wanted to. Based on his audience figures, he must be doing something right. |
