It's in very poor taste. Khan as Mayor needed to give permission. The office of Mayor (obviously..)requires decency, courtesy and respect. He has taken the opportunity that's presented itself to show the complete opposite.
There is not A CHANCE he would allow such an insult to be shown to a Saudi Prince or anyone else for that matter. 'They' hate Trump because HE loves America. Oh how they hate America and all it stands for... |

Will the next Saudi Prince be greeted by an inflatable Mo ? Maybe an inflatable Mo with his nappy-clad wife ?
|
|
By:
dave, if anyone flew a balloon of you wearing a nappy over your house I would object on the grounds it's distasteful and crude.
Which part of taste and decency don't you understand? Ps Reynard hits the bullseye. Wow, now THAT would be a puzzle for Mr Khan wouldn't it... According to London's Mayor, 'protests take many forms'...so.... |

By:
How did London welcome Erdogan, that great defender of democracy ? Showing ourselves up again.

well after trumpy allowed erdo's goons to literally kick the heads of protestors in the usa, you can imagine their reticence.

Lefties don't bother about things like taste and decency. |

After making Jerusalem the capital Trump has even more friends in the right places. I expect a dodgy media headline about Khan in the next week or so. Something similar along the line of the Keith Vaz story I expect.

Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995
Was passed in obvisously 1995, but every US Prez since then didn't enact it until The Don grabbed the impaass by the cahunas and took some action. Democracy, ehh like it or loathe it. |

even more friends in the right places
You mean the shylock bean counters and oligarchs? Aye real democracy. Just as Wells implied; the majority are farmed humans. |

Listen to the ungrateful whining of people like dystybin , he has been part of the luckiest of generations along with everyone else living in Britain with greater freedoms and rights and opportunities than at any other place or time or country in the history of the world and still he is not thankful
|

By:
Yeah, whining dustybin eh?
The one who acknowledges that the artificial creation of comfort has to be paid via somebody else's suffering, how selfish of me to be the one who knows our decadence is paid for by the sacrifice of others. All these money men dont create value. Value is intrinsic and it originates in energy from the universe that manifests itself in a variety of forms we call resourses. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed only converted. All that is happening within economies is the dividing up of wealth from resources stolen from the collective, the people then underpaid to convert it into something useful and sold at a profit. Its a con trick. No investment has ever occurred without the intention of a 'return' (ROI) If people wernt so selfish and think only of themselves then wealth would be more evenly distributed. The problem is those who court power dont want that because then everyone would be average. They want to rape society of their birthright. The notion that we all should be grateful because there are others with fewer freedoms is a void arguement, which is encouraged by those with vested interests who encourage atrophy of the human race. The freedoms are a veneer of respectability over a substrate of cheating and lies. Business isnt about sharing information for the advancement of the human race, its about protection of IP and creating a narrative through marketing to ring fence a cash cow. There is nothing noble about those with the loudest voices and the most comfortable of lifestyles. |

We are not suffering in Britain , and and are living in a country as great and beautiful as any that has ever been
If other countries in the world follow our example of a democratic and free and good society then they may be as well , there is no guarantee of that of course , be thankful |
|
By:
Thats my point, 'we are not suffering' so everything is right.
That assumes an awful lot of the innate ability of 'us'. The truth however is more likely that instability is encouraged elsewhere to the benefit of the few. Ofc thats not to say the mentality of those in other lands is actually any better; the selfish notion continues in the form of division by sectarianism, tribal or creed. Somebody is always creating a reason to maltreat somebody else. Endogomy is the interbreeding of people, who harvest something at the cost over all others. Yet scientifically we know that limiting scope is counter productive. Yet whether its the royal family, Islam or readers of Deuteronomy....all of those encourage the limited sharing between themselves. |

I imagine it must be so easy , so natural , to create a country full of millionaires .
I don’t care about that , in Britain everyone has their own small patch of existence That’s what I want, nothing more , that’s good |

progressives hate this country - they would bring it down - in fact they are - the remainers sponsored by foreigners and foreign money have managed to trash democracy
they want to publicly insult one of the largest democracies in the world while remaining virtually unmoved when erdagon, two visits from chinese rulers, saudi and putin have taken place you wonder who our friends are sometimes |
|
By:
and don't talk about inbreeding - have you seen the '13 times more likely to have birth defects' articles which we dare not discus for fear of being called racist!! councils/authorities ignoring it!!!
that is what progressives have produced with their labels and - free speech suffers because of it |

It is like being a whistle blower these days. Just as people fear for their jobs if they report anything, people now fear for their job if they mention anything about population or any of the other strangely(now) sensitive issues.
Many of them weren't around to be sensitive 20 years ago . Issues that is. I wonder what has changed over that time. |

Its a superficial democracy.
The word is used as though its an epitaph in itself. Look more closely and its every bit as contrived as some of the theocracies. The queen (unelected) opens parliament each year in pomp and ceremony (that keeps people in their place) Only for politicans to lobby on behalf of those paying most, who profit from the rules made by a government that told lies during a 4 yearly vote. Each government uses gerrymandering tacics in various guises to influence future votes for them to more likely retain power. All the while party whips completely ignore the will of the people to force MPs to toe the line of the ideology. Like I have often said, the difference between our system and others' is that 'we' try harder to cover the lies. |

By:
Then we have the puppet bigots who believe the only road to utopia is by reducing the circle even further to keep all the good stuff that was stolen from around the world, to themselves.

Explain why Khan is not fit for office because he gave someone permission to fly a balloon?
The balloon is an insult to the vising leader of the UK's closest ally. Isn't that enough? But there's more. Little Khan has given his permission for the insult to be exercised, so by doing that he has associated himself with the childish insult. And if you need to have that explained, you're not up to posting on here. Stick to sport mate. |

edy, Trump is not my hero. If this stunt was planned against Obama, Macron or Merkel I would be appalled.
It shows us in such poor light. It's 2 bob. Khan, like Lammy, like Bercow, despises the POTUS and they despise America. I find that embarrassing. |

That's what I mean.
Deluded. I read SO much of your, Ill-informed, poorly (not at all) thought out garbage and ignore most of it, which is almost standard response by nearly everyone to you. But sometimes, even you warrant a tiny response. You couldn't smack the bottom of a lightweight cake bowl, let alone that of anyone who can read or write. I can't think of a single thing you have ever said to me, or anyone else, come to that, that could possibly feel like some sort of victory, even for you, someone who sees every stupid post you write as a competition. Trust me, crippen, you don't have any fans. Maybe the odd (and they'd have to be odd) twerp giving you an ego-boosting prod, but no fans. |

Attacking the leader of a country we are hoping to do business with and for what? I wonder who else these people have protested about? |

It's not a competition between who "we've" welcomed and in what esteem we hold them, akabula.
Trump is like a badge or code word for being in the group of people who use this (and other's) forum to talk about nothing else. It really doesn't matter what I think of him. I'm not going to change anyone's mind and I'm not joining in. It's a modern phenomenon. Reagan or Dubya wouldn't have got this unbending loyalty and pained support. Most people, including those so vehement in their moaning, would have said - "So F'ing what, I couldn't care less". This doesn't happen with Trump. The press earns a jolly good wage from him, people are polarised and arguing non-stop about him. I don't suppose anyone else visiting would have warranted the desire to make a blimp. But Trump is by NO means not the first visiting leader to receive demonstrations. Not that you'd think so reading the nonsense on this thread. As for what he's done. That is a leading (even fishing) question and I don't have the power in my typing fingers to answer it. The information is freely available though, if you choose not to believe it's "fake". |
