now that means that every sheet of paper no matter how big or small is 3D not 2D
good |
By:
wolf, Charlie agrees with you, as do I. trying to convince McGinty, and Make My Hay seem to be saying the Earth is flat.
I think they are just being silly. |

LFC:
READ THIS AND COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when we say the universe is flat it is not in the same sense that a piece of paper is flat, but rather means that the geometry of the universe is such that parallel lines will never cross, the angles in a triangle will always add up to 180 degress, and the corners of cubes will always make right angles. We call this kind of geometry (the kind you learned in school) Euclidean geometry |
By:
you seem to have believed that a piece of paper was 2D study
I merely pointed out it wasn't that's the thanks you get |
By:
You aren't reading it or acknowledging it are you lfc?
You are a troll aren't you? |
By:
yes I agree with that, that's for confirming what I have been trying to tell you
By:
A few things going on here.
Let's start with Wolf. You said: How is the universe flat for Christ sake? Even a 1 foot plant shows it isn't flat by definition.. what the hell are you taking You implied that because there is a one foot plant the earth isn't flat by definition. That is not the definition of flat we're talking about hence my post. |
By:
What, this?????
it is not in the same sense that a piece of paper is flat |
By:
I've tried telling that already, wolf.
I must be overtired, I made the mistake of engaging with lfc. |
By:
if you agree that a piece of paper is 3D, and it is
then of course we can say that the universe is flat, like a piece of paper and parallel lines will not cross..etc |
By:
it is not in the same sense that a piece of paper is flat
Is from the astrophysics dept at Cornell, but you keep ignoring it. |
By:
many forms of erosion in space

By:
Name 1
By:
and you find an eg , list some
By:
you can take over, wolf.
he's nuts and you won't get anywhere. |
By:
lol , he's clearly as mad as a march hare and missed physics/chemistry classes at school
By:
By:
study , in what sense does the astrophysics dept say that the universe is not flat
it is either flat, or it is some other shape now there is no point in them saying it is flat if it is round sorry, it cant be both I don't mind as long as they say it is flat I will agree with them if they say it is round or some other shape that's ok I will disagree |
By:
Keeping it in layman simplistic terms even the mentally ill can understand , if the earth is flat, why is it blazing sun now in south America but darker than a baboons **** here?
By:
By:
By:
in the fecking sense I posted 3 times.
It is VERY complex and just makes a kind of sense of euclidian geometry. |
By:
The second question would be to the flat earth mob, what possible benefit or motivation would there be in some kind of huge conspiracy to mislead people about the shape of the planet?
By:
lfc is arguing that everything is flat and in (unimaginable) time will be some sort of 2D, but he's wrong and has a lack of understanding of the concept
By:
There's another thread about "chemtrails" wolf. You might find that entertaining too. It sort of spawned this one.
And, THAT one stems from the Moon landings thread, which would take hours to read. Mostly the same bunch. They'll believe anything, but are impossible to move from their stance. NO amount of reasoning will do it. Several of us have tried. |
By:
look at it this way if it makes it any easier for you Charlie
a piece of paper is flat a ball is not flat (although it will in time become flat) |
By:
Even the passage of time is a complex topic and not straight forward as quantum physics illustrates discussing the perceived linear time compared to parallel universes etc. The argument is then that we are being stretched like an elastic band and in however many years we will be as flat as pancakes. Of course long before that our own sun will have gone supernova destroying the earth anyway but never mind the fact mountains are actually getting bigger in some places etc
By:
studyform is wrong, again
I never mentioned 2D |
By:
It depends on your definition of flat , even paper at tiny levels has undulating parts. If something has any thickness at all it's hard to describe it as "flat"
By:
By:
exactly as I said study
By:
that's why I said, as flat as a piece of paper
try and keep up wolf |

The Universe Is Flat — Now What?
https://www.space.com/34928-the-universe-is-flat-now-what.html Where does this get us? |
By:
Given how complex the universe is , to use an analogy of paper suggesting we will be flat as pancakes eventually due to an expanding universe is embarrassing.. infact laughable . It's like trying to teach a monkey to play Mozart on the piano, you do realise LFC that your comprehension of the universe is fundamentally flawed anyway. The computer/ phone you are typing on is made up primarily of empty space with millions of atoms, very little is as it seems
By:
I never mentioned the expanding universe wolf, you seem to make things up as you go along
studyform does that as well |
By:
ok so explain why you think we will all be flat then after x number of years
By:
now I don't want to have to say this again....
because of time |
