People like something to get worked up about. Life today is very comfortable. No shortage of food, very good work/life balance, high life expectancy, left alone by the authorities, no real hardships. A result of all this goodness is people start looking for non-existant defects they can whine about.
but it is not funny is it - people can lose their jobs over trifling things - but what it is doing is silencing debate or questioning the agenda/narrative

thing is, they have NO IDEA that the majority of people don't share their views. They live in such a bubble, where all their friends and colleagues sing the same tune, where virtue-signalling has become the new currency. And when I say the majority, I'm talking a large majority who see thru their BS.
If you take a look at the most shared Terry Gilliam stories on facebook - and the ones which get the most comments - have a glance thru the comments. The vast majority DO NOT agree with the mob. Most people (and these include a lot of women) support TG's position or his right to say it.

It's much worse than that. They know full well, and intend to re-educate or force people to parrot the agenda anyway. Not a chance of that happening imo, sanity will have to prevail eventually.

When the Claire Foy/Matt Smith pay thing came out earlier in the week, a woman on Twitter reacted with: "The male actors really shouldn't allow this!"
