spangles - fruit flavours but fav was old english which was mix of aniseed, butterscotch & cinnamon type flavours.
also seem to remember a coconut type thing that came in a pouch & was meant to resemble a pouch of rolling tobacco. can't think why they don't still sell that  |

We used to buy sweet Cigarettes to copy grown ups, they had a red end to look like they were lit. Them old English spangles were rank imo.

Those spangles were just weird,what flavour were the diarrhoea coloured ones vomit.Remember the sweet tobacco you could buy
 in a little pouch as well,looked like the real thing as well when you were I kid.. |

Those big penny chews that were half one flavour and half another.
I used to get 2/6d a week pocket money and would go straight down the local shop and buy 30 to last me the week. Probably the reason i've got none of my own teeth now. |

One shop, on the way to school, sold "Penny Spuds" that were just icing sugar dipped in cocoa.
Never saw them anywhere else, so guessing the shopkeeper made them. |

was at a carbootsale at the coast about 10 years back and there was a market type stall selling sweets and biscuits etc ,they were selling texan bars ,i bought a box of them really enjoyed them and the kids loved them and they went in no time !

paynes poppets toffee ,fruit and the mint ones were the biz , the factory was about a mile from my home as a nipper and in the summer they had the doors open for fresh air and some of the lasses working in there would hand out a few packets to us kids sometimes !
