Media grabbing every sensational quote they can get, only facts so far, being treated as a terrorist incident and police believe it failed to properly detonate. Seems to have been a pretty crude device 'a flaming white bucket inside a Lidl freezer bag with Christmas lights connected to a battery protruding out of the top'.

Some reports of a second bomb and there is a man with knives on the loose.

Shows how far Lidl have come, wasn't that long ago around here you'd be thrown off the train for anything other than a Waitrose or M&S bag.

^ Remember reading last year some Lidl stores started selling long-life Waitrose carrier bags for 10p .... don't know why but maybe to help eliminate supermarket shame. Mischief

Bloke with hair burnt off on news said he didn't notice anything as he tends to keep himself to himself. Ffs! How many times do you have to tell people to be aware of their surroundings with an Amber terrorist status. All possibly on their phones, reading a book, not making eye contact. Beggers belief.

That section of the D line is always full of East European builders travelling to the basement extensions they're doing in Fulham, Wimbledon, Putney etc, a bucket full of paint-stripper is par for the course. Not sure if it's always for work purposes or consumption, but it's not uncommon.

Has Khan ordered a Book of Condolence to be opened yet for the bucket and Lidl bag?

I take it that this incident has already been declared as having nothing to do with any Peaceful Religions, well ahead of any actual investigation?

Please keep Lidl out of this. Plastic bags have no religion. Kind Regards from Germany.

Device had a timer. Being treated as a terrorist attack. So inept was the perpetrator, what with 22 injured none seriously, that he had better not return to the fold or he might be given a goolieectomy. No mention of the type of terrorist by the BBC!

There could be a koran , burka and  ramadan calendar left  in the bag , the BBC would still say there are no known links to any religion

Some jocularity above for some reason but a bucket of things that go bang could have killed a lot of people, think of the size of a hand grenade and how much bigger (and this is the cube of the dimensions) a bucket could hold. The boston **** was the size of pot. It sounds like the main charge didn't take for some reason so it sounds like luck or incompetence that there aren't a lot of dead and serious injured Sad.

@Slicer They are always inept. But at least they have moved on from knives and ramming vans into people and are giving bomb making a try. Just fear the day someone with a brain joins them. Ive always wondered why we havent had a fire incident after London authorities publicly told which buildings in london did not have the right fire safety design etc...

Upturned sad looking smiley faces aren't going to do anything tho are they like the " we stand together crap". At least the cynicism of organisations like the BBC attack the ridiculous culture in this country where we can't call a spade a spade and tackle issues head on. That's far more beneficial than " woe is me " CryCryCry

If it is indeed a subscriber to the Religion of Peace, could the use of a timer indicate somehow it's got back to them how ugly the 72 virgins are?

@JC-Both luck AND incompetence. The Merde of London will sigh a sigh of relief if it is found it wasn't one of his co religionists!

It's policy at the BBC and C4 for any news item, to find a way to have a go at Trump, they did not disappoint, C4 news will no doubt be all over his tweet like twaats.

In this case though, it was a childish tweet no mater which way you look at it. His comments about shutting down the parts of internet that the terrorists use and muslim ban are laughable. A bomb goes off in an allied country and the first thing you tell them is look, your security services knew about the bomber even though the affectd country hasn't yet announced who he was. Defeats the whole point of intelligence agencies.

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump 12h12 hours ago

The travel ban into the United States should be far larger, tougher and more specific-but stupidly, that would not be politically correct!

Loser terrorists must be dealt with in a much tougher manner. The internet is their main recruitment tool which we must cut off & use better!

It is a good thing in principle to ban people from certain countries from coming to Britain, a pm should not lack the courage to show herself as an oppressor of such countries, it`s good for them.
