He was lucky he had a cast iron alibi: he was in America. It shows how unreliable visual identification evidence can be. Even with cctv footage, the police arrested the wrong man. How many chit-chatters could prove where they were that day three months ago? |

I do hope plod have not made a stupid mistake! The man has only been arrested and not charged yet. This does not look good! Shame we all wanted it to be the greedy banker! One would have thought it easy for him to prove he was in America. WHy did it take so long? I wonder if anyone has looked at the tapes for the next day and seen if he ran over the Bridge regularly? Must be plenty of cctv round there. How can they not find a btter close up? |

Don't get this, someone thought it was him on CCTV footage.... reports it to the police..... he gets arrested....but no charges..... and now released with no charge. So why even name him ? Bloke has been getting death threats and had his name and picture in the papers and all over social media. |

Police need to keep their gobs shut, crazy that they should reveal someones name before any sort of evidence, well apart from a description. All rather amateurish.
I guess the police will be liable for a massive payout which helps no one. |

At the end of the day we need to find who dunnit! I really want to know if Plod have looked at cctv. I would guess they haven't done a proper job. So much cctv to identify his clothes first then look for a bteer close up of his face. Next they will say they didn't look and the cctv has been wiped. Proper Wooden Tops! |

Have previous days CCTV been checked ,does this Bloke run the Route Daily where did he come from where did he go ,You cannot tell me that is the Only footage they have ,the only charge they have is assault he could not know the Bus was coming or that she would fall into its path ,something wrong with the whole set up ...
I dont know the full story but I would Like to take decent odds the 2 of them are Known to each other .. Fck me u drive thru a light or enter a wrong Zone you have a Ticket in the Post within days in London .. A clear image of a Bloke running and no one can Identify him |

I'd absolutely agree that there is something more to it than simply the 20 second clip and cctv image that has been released so far and the interpretation of those that people have placed on it so far.
My guess would be ran round first time and there was an incident, ran round second time knocked her over as in CCTV, then ran round again for some reason. |

They have not blown up the images of the clothing he was wearing! We all know 50% of burglars who are caught wear reeboks! His kit could have been identified to give clues.

How could he have not appeared on more CCTV? Only if he researched CCTV positions and only jogged for a short duration when he knew his target would be crossing the bridge. Maybe he didn't consider the CCTV on the bus in front? |
