Does anyone know what's the point of 'show of strength' exercises? Do they use real ammunition? What's the financial cost of it? I really don't see a point in South Korea/US doing military exercises to show their strength when the whole world knows how strong the american military is.

the point is that everyone on earth has to be a consumer.
They have to be lined up to become a part of the hive mind. part of facebook or some other alternative. They cannot be behind a wall that cannot be accessed. North Korea is controlling their entire population. limited food and resources. Everyone has to want what's coming. freedom of choice. It's under the flag of democracy but that's a smokescreen. they want your participation. I say FK it. sit on yer hands and do nothing. the amount of spending is in the trillions since 911. Donald Rumsfeld said a few days before 911, that spending was too much on the military, that he was going to investigate it. That was dropped like a hot potato. |

I know they want our participation but i cant see any reason why Europe should send its troops to the conflict(though there wasnt any strong logic for sending troops to Middle East either). My fear is america will make it look like it was attacked and we'll have to send troops because of the NATO agreement.

the latest sound bite I heard this week was to do with
the first world war casualties. They were a sacrifice? WTF. Is that how the soldiers saw it? I'm a sacrifice. Fighting for your life. Up to your knees in mud getting trenchfoot and going out of your mind with bomb blasts. They really lay on the patriotic gloss on criminal negligence of the leaders at the time.
