God is against the followers of Baal, they kill children and sacrifice to their pagan Gods. The Jews are taking back the land promised to Abraham. It's their land, given to them by God in the Abraham covenant.
Much like we defend our borders, they too are defending what is theirs.
given by God.
Evil have been fought against all throughout history.
We did not give the UK to Hitler? we defended our land and others.
God is against Murder not self defence.

the commandment is thou shalt not murder, not thou shalt not kill.

No jesus said something different -

Love for Enemies

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,  bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.  If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.  Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Love for Enemies

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

The Lord threw them into confusion before Israel, so Joshua and the Israelites defeated them completely at Gibeon. Israel pursued them along the road going up to Beth Horon and cut them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah. 11As they fled before Israel on the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah, the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them, and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of the Israelites.

God is the defender of his people. He works through the Jews
His CHOSEN people to administer to the whole world.
The JEWS are the proxy people. To hate the JEWS is to hate yourself.
Because it's through the Jews that Christ came, and your salvation.
That's why you are arguing against Christ and the Jews.

Nobody here is arguing about the Buddhists or the other religions.
because they are clearly BOGUS.
King Monkey is not interested in you?
Thor's too busy fighting Loki to be interested in you?

I'm sorry but time is almost up - grace period is over.

So its actually only applicable when its for the good of the jews....all the other times you have to forgive and forget?
Remember me mentioning the self appreciation part?
Written by the people for the people.

Reminds me about the joke about the jew and two chickens (which I wont tell on here incase the hand wringers get upset)

When you build a statue, you cleave away large pieces, then smaller ones
until the form reveals itself then you chip away and scrape and then you
apply sandpaper to make the surface smooth.

it's a process of refinement.

He's the creator. you are arguing about his methods half way through.
before you see the finished article. have a little faith - guard your soul.

I read the rest of Joshua 10
For you to suggest that was self defence is laughable.
He destroyed around 7 cities and villages leaving no survivours and acted in cold blood.

You make it up as you go along.

God Could have created perfect puppets. he instead allows choice and free will.
He wants us to have free thoughts. God is perfect - eternally so and perhaps he wants to mix it up.

Artificial Intelligence is being argued in the news yesterday between Zuckerberg and elon musk.
we are trying to create a 'thinking' machine.
it'll be basic, then it will develop and expand.
Zuckerberg is saying it's too dangerous. Musk is all steam ahead.
starting from basic code, to DOS, to clouds, the experiment continues.

It's not defence - i said God is their defender.
but the land is there's - they have been repeatedly commanded
to take it and defend it.
Saul was told to kill everyone and leave no survivors.
he disobeyed God. He left women and children alive.
For this God told him he would lose his throne.

At first glance you think - fer FK sake.

But there is a hidden meaning behind it.

You are siding with Saul. You don't see the whole picture.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

you are looking at the surface meaning of the bible - subtext(spirit) is more important.

There are similarities between christianity and plato.

Plato said something along the lines of,
Dont avenge injustice for risk of damming the soul

He wasnt talking about hell, he was talking about what living a bitter vengefilled existence does to the person.

Jesus just probs knicked it for his sermon on the mount

quotum -

Human sentimentality is hardly a qualified measuring stick for divine truth and spiritual reality.

How incredibly ironic that the atheist, the agnostic, the skeptic, and the liberal all attempt to stand in judgment upon the ethical behavior of God when, if one embraces their position, there is no such thing as an absolute, objective, authoritative standard by which to pronounce anything right or wrong. As the French existentialist philosopher, Sartre, admitted: “Everything is indeed permitted if God does not exist.... Nor...are we provided with any values or commands that could legitimize our behavior” (1961, p. 485). The atheist and agnostic have absolutely no platform on which to stand to make moral or ethical distinctions—except as the result of purely personal taste.
The mere fact that they concede the existence of objective evil is an unwitting concession there is a God Who has established an absolute framework of moral judgments.

The facts of the matter are that the Canaanites, whom God’s people were to destroy, were destroyed for their wickedness (Deuteronomy 9:4; 18:9-12; Leviticus 18:24-25,27-28). Canaanite culture and religion in the second millennium B.C. were polluted, corrupt, and perverted. No doubt the people were physically diseased from their illicit behavior. There simply was no viable solution to their condition except destruction. Their moral depravity was “full” (Genesis 15:16). They had slumped to such an immoral, depraved state, with no hope of recovery, that their existence on this Earth had to be terminated—just like in Noah’s day when God waited while Noah preached for years, but was unable to turn the world’s population from its wickedness (Genesis 6:3,5-7; 1 Peter 3:20; 2 Peter 3:5-9). Including the children in the destruction of such populations actually spared them from a worse condition—that of being reared to be as wicked as their parents and thus face eternal punishment. All persons who die in childhood, according to the Bible, are ushered to Paradise and will ultimately reside in Heaven. Children who have parents who are evil must naturally suffer innocently while on Earth (e.g., Numbers 14:33).

"Full" genesis reference might also indicate contamination by the fallen angels.

With or without accepting jesus as savior?

It interesting how the assesment of wickness doesnt include pedo catholic priests who not only wrong innocent children but use god as a cover.
Wouldnt that be about as wicked as can be since they too did many of the acts I would assume as they would have done in solem?

Or perhaps the sale of god's forgiveness for monetary gain, isnt that pretty wicked when they sold gods will without consulting him?
