Have you read the game of thrones books?  I can't decide whether I like the books or the series best.

I watched half an hour of the first episode and never bothered again.
I feckin hate Sean bean he's the worst actor in the world.

The other day I watched the supposed 20 best moments countdown.
So I've essentially seen the very best of it all and tbh think it's all overhyped.

Watched 2 and a half seasons and decided life was is too short to watch a bunch of hocus pocus nonsense in the hope that what it's building up might actually happen at some point rather than it just being a long sequence of different people walking about.

Firefly is the best TV series ever. Despite only one season.

Not the War of the Roses! Not real life. Not a historiacal biopic. Not true to life...well except if you lived in Medieval England before St fcuking George!

I think Game of Thrones initially got all the attraction because of the number of pornstars it contained(I even saw a subway add claiming they had 9 pornstars in season 2). For a hocus pocus series like that, you'll need something better to sell it. And in this case it was nudity. I would feel guilty if I ever asked someone to waste a few days of their life on it. That however doesn't take anything away from the fact that they are one of the most successful series ever, and have a massive massive fan following. Personally I only liked the dwarf guy(Tyron?)and the last two seasons I forwarded to his scenes only. The rest was and is crap to me.

Again, its a personal choice what people like and what they don't. I personally don't like this (have still watched it though) but GOT have done a tremendous job of making people like them. If it makes money, its successful. And GOT does.

there are some brilliant actors/actresses as well...the guy who played ramsey bolton was superb as was the kid who played king tommen

totally illegal, are you worried about getting caught me and my friends have been using it for a long time, no problems yet,
I don't try and download the tv shows or movies, I just stream them live. if you get an access denied message after a few days, don't worry because there are other links that will work. the access denied is a load of crap because it will work fine again the next day.

Of course all online streaming sites are illegal. But as far as i know, viewing content online is not the issue, its downloading it that gets you in trouble(and fairly quickly). I always use streaming sites though. Can't bother paying for this.

I agree with annie regarding the competition. Prison break is the first ever season i watched and i still rate it highly. But the last season was such a crap job it was hard to believe. It looked like they were in a hurry. Sometimes they put in scenes which make no sense but they only put it there because they use that info later. You've got to do a beter job than that. There's lot of work that has gone into GOT and you can see that when you watch other shows.

brilliant show prison break, season 4 was a bit lame,because most of the characters stories had already played out, watched season 5 the other day, must say I enjoyed that series.

prison break was on 12 years ago, its an old show, breaking bad is a masterpiece. I love the walking dead and also enjoy
fear the walking dead. dexter was very good show.

I think GoT is excellent tv and all the hype surrounding it makes it better as I enjoy talking about it with people. I think the acting and story is great but the production values are superb and the two Benioff and Weiss are the Masters of this show.

Any great story can be butchered. These guys bring it to life and maybe the books are better and give you better insight but I have not and will not read the books. TV is it's own medium. I'll take what they have given.

I have not binge watched the show yet. I watch episode by episode weekly and that creates a longing to see what happens next.

My favorite series have been Deadwood and The Wire. All good TV tends to share the same things, great story, great actors and great production. Got has all 3 as well. I think great screen writing for TV is also over looked. Transfering a story to tv can be difficult.

I generally can't be bothered with box set series stuff, it needs to be compact and done and dusted withing 90mins for me or I start losing interest.
The only series I've watched was Black Flag, the pre runner to Treasure Island.
I was interested in that because we all know the plot and it was vaguely interesting to see how they got to the main story and character development, but it was so contrived, the number of twists in it left you dizzy.
They do it to pimp out the story and it gets ridiculous.
I think I only stuck with it because of the Caribbean shots and the rebellious tendencies and debauchery.

Though the main character just had to be a puff nowadays and the final plot could be seen coming a mile off....bugger the treasure it was all about gay love in the end.
Don't recall that in Treasure Island.

waiting for season 3 of Gomorrah, very good show

Old one, but Sopranos still holds its own with the very best.
