Probably 99.9% of all of them, overall.
I really can't believe how people can ever discriminate against...people. We're born as a totally random chance to whoever has borne us. Does that escape most people? I rather think it does. Do they think that THEY chose to be the child of their parents/culture/creed/colour/nationality? Well, if it's escaped them - no they didn't. Their life was a totally random chance. Yes. Think about it. They're blessed that they've been born in a democratic land, if they've been born here, where decency and democracy are taken as a given. It really isn't like that in most countries. Most immigrants who come here seek a better life - and Britain is known for fairness, decency and kindness. That's all most good people aspire to in their state of being - and so should it. |

How a country is viewed by the rest of the world can change surprisingly quickly. When the people of a country changes, in very large numbers, the people don't change, the country changes.

you see what tommy toes says is wrong, we are not born as a totally random chance.
We are born into a certain time and place, if what he was saying was true it wouldn`t matter where we were born, and who we were born to. But it does. |
By:
He says that we are blessed to have been born into a democratic land, as if this came about by magic.
And then goes on to say that most of the world is not like that. Without stopping to ask himself why. |
By:
can you have democracy and freedom and at the same time have different people, with different cultures and beliefs?
no, it is impossible. |
By:
why? because democracy merely means the freedom from other people and their overwhelming will.
How can that be achieved without people believing in the same basic things and principles. And is this the case in Britain today ?, certainly not. |
By:
you ok hun?
By:
only by becoming separate is their progress and peace, this is the history of the world.
By:
if it wasn`t, then there would not be different races and different cultures.
By:
ask why, after many thousands of years of history people are so very different, not the same.
By:
Isn`t it a miracle that everyones face is different.
By:
you would think that we would run out off different faces.
By:
how interesting, uninteresting things can become.

Is our time and place of birth random - yes
Are we lucky to live in a place where democracy and decency prevail - yes Can democracy and our ideas of decency be compromised by a vociferous minority with alternative views - yes. |

The Poles
The Indians The Bangladeshis The Irish The Germans The Romanians The South Africans The Italians The French The Spanish The Portuguese The Lithuanians The Bulgarians and loads of others who come from peace-loving and tolerant cultures. They all integrate well into British society because they share most of our values. They are all welcome ![]() |

"you see what tommy toes says is wrong, we are not born as a totally random chance. We are born into a certain time and place, if what he was saying was true it wouldn`t matter where we were born, and who we were born to. But it does." lfc1971, do you really believe each and every one of us are not born entirely by random chance? Do you think there's a great big ante-natal unit somewhere in the sky where all babies about to be born are planning which parents, colour, creed and nationality they'll belong to? Did you ever as a child think to yourself "Thank God they aren't my parents" or "I'm glad I wasn't born there" when you saw something on tv? Well, it could just as easily have been the fact. Random is random. We don't choose. |
By:
Tommy is clearly right about the random thing btw. Not sure how you can really argue with it without turning to reincarnation or some rather contrived version of theism or something.

You have to agree unless you are lacking in a certain department..

Chinese Triad gangs hold enormous control over Chinese immigrants which goes virtually unreported to the local Plod.
Extortion, kidnapping, prostitution, protection money rackets, money laundering, human trafficking, beatings within their own communities are never reported out of fear from their own. |

Tommy Toes
You couldn't have been born in a different country, and neither could I or anyone else. So in that sense it isn't random . As we were talking about immigration that was my point. It wasn't random the way countries came to be. Our forefathers died for our freedom, they worked hard to provide a safe and free country, are we fortunate? yes, but it is not random There is nothing random about being born to particular parents in a particular country. It is the only way you could have been born. |
By:
lfc1971:
We could have been born at anytime to anyone in any country. Do you really not see that? |
By:
Chinese I'm taking about ain't been near the traided
There offspring of very rich industrial magnets That brought up 1000 posh pads rd docklands Chinese might even own large chucks of that area anyway |

By:
Yes I understand that people can be born everywhere, but individuals can not. They have to be born in one place only.
By:
Are people the same everywhere? no you cannot even say that.
By:
It's pointless trying to discuss this with you.
My ghast is flabbered. |
By:
You could of been born in some muddie hut
Somewhere thank your lucky stars for that |
By:
That would not have been me, that would have been someone else.
By:
Now if you accept that individuals can be born in only one place, and not anywhere.
Then it must follow that where you are born is not random, it is the opposite of random . It is very specific. |
By:
So where you are born is not random?, please explain how you can pick your birth place?

A few miles from me is a dump called Ravensthorpe. It was colonised and almost wholely populated by Pakistanis in the 70s.
The Blair stampede started a rapid influx of East European/Balkan people, including a lot of troublesome Albanians and Romanians. There were riots against the newcomers after a while and the area is once again mainly Pakistani. A part of England being warred over by different groups of foreigners. ![]() |
By:
It's not a question of picking where you are born, after all no one chooses to be born it just happens.
No one knows why : ) |
By:
you see you can't be born in China and have red hair, it's impossible ?
By:
Tying yourself in knots ,just explain how where you are born is not random but specific as you stated?
By:
I know someone who lives in China, and he has red hair.
By:
read it again breedingmad , I don't think you understand.
By:
you see you can't be born in China and have red hair, it's impossible ?
No it's very possible unfortunately for your lame statement. |
By:
Where did you pick to be born?
