Well here's my dilemma. I have a prison visit on Thursday June 1st. The prison requires photographic id. All I have is a out of date passport with a photograph that requires deep study to say is recognisable and a bus pass. I got up with a bus pass first time. I have applied for a provisional licence but sadly it doesn't look as if that will come in time. I have brought travel for this visit but am deeply unsure whether I will get in or not. Despite been six times before. I have gave the DVLA permission to speak to the prison if need be. Does anybody have any suggestions to help my cause? I will ring Prison when I'm able to next week to make them aware of what I'm able to bring to prove who I am!

Haven't had fingerprints taken. The advantage I've got is I have been six times before. I will take old passport. Their are likeable features but at first glance it doesn't look like me. I will ring before hand and let them know what I have.

I shall just go. Say this is all Ive got photo id wise for now. I am a regular visitor to my Friend. I am awaiting my provisonal licence renewal back off the Dvla. They are able to confirm this with you over the phone. They will be able to confirm it was received by them on the 11th May. Whether its being issued or not then. Explain any hold up if need be. Best I can do now already paid for train travel. Hopefully be let up having been before and hopefully accept what I have under the circumstances.
What their in for may determine whether you are allowed to see them without the correct id...............

I suppose its no big deal or end of world if I didnt get in. As I have another visit booked up 5 days later on Tuesday 6th June. By that time provisonal licence will probably come. Hopefully I get up for both visits. His in for Stabbing and due out on Licence soon anyhow. I will Try my best with Thursday as regards what Ive got and info I can give from the dvla. Best I can do under the circumstances.

Ive just put my finger over hair on passport photo. It looks alot like me so I should be fine. I will suggest that to person on check in in a nice way. Be up in a brezze then.

Who knows what his on in prison. His admitted to smoking on perfume. I think theirs a little regret and the guy is very confused in there. His release day can't come quick enough! His ready and think is unlikely to reoffend. Prison has increased his intelligence and overall outlook on life!

A mate of mine was in jail for a serious crime knew him since 15 when he got out he tried to make contact and no one i knew thought twice of letting this guy communicate with them.He may be changed but how can you take that chance and i wouldn't care if he was or not grew up with him for years and the crime to be has no second chance.

Sounds like he stabbed a girl and another girl said she (the girl stabbed) deserved it. Whether he stabbed a girl or a man he sounds like a wrong 'un. Violent, and high on drink and drugs. I'd find a better mate unless you're shagging him and/or of a similar disposition.

I've been on prison visits a number of times and each time the visitor is expected (named prior to the visit) and proper id such as passport required. Some take your electronic finger or thumb print during check in and mark your hand with a UV ink stamp which is checked on exit.

Never been on a prison visit but Foinavon seems to know the ropes(!).

Well well went today. He refused the visit and doesnt appear to be any reason why. Strange as is. Should I even bother anymore. His gave a clear intercation today he isnt bothered. Whats the point? Bang Out of order considering I have travelled so far. Dont know what to think. I dont think Ive upset him in any way. It could be the bad news his had of staying in prison until next April. But why take it on his superstar visitor? The only one that actually seemed to care. His family dont basically bother. Feel kicked in the teeth well and truly.
