I watched the Tories trying to twist words about a 30 year old meeting.
Sophy Ridge (whoever she is) was dreadful. The question was more than answered, but she kept asking it and the TV and papers were all over it as the latest smear campaign.

In the end, it has to wear thin, doesn't it?

I have mentioned this before. Especially sky. It is more about the presenter than anything. It is as if they are on the stage.

With regards Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell it's not merely a case of condemning a politician because one doesn't happen to like their social, economic or fiscal policies.

In McDonnell we're talking about a man who advocated the murder of British citizens, honouring those who actually committed such heinous acts of brutality, and somebody who counts IRA killers amongst his circle of friends.  It is important to note that he does not deny these despicable truths about his past.  A few grovelling apologies on television, however, are simply not good enough in this instance; the man is running for high office in a country whose people he once opined "only heeded to bullets and bombs."  The very fact that this dangerous individual is permitted to be shadow chancellor brings shame to all of us, not just the Labour Party.  Corbyn's historical alliances, although not quite as abhorrent as his chosen deputy, are also worthy of contempt; his links with Hezbollah, Hamas and the IRA all being widely known. 

If we had any sense neither man should be permitted within ten miles of the Houses of Parliament, much less prominent members of Her Majesty's opposition.  Labour are evidently shambolic and no longer the party best representing British workers.  I, unlike many right wingers, take no delight in this fact whatsoever.  Our country desperately needs a trustworthy, credible and competent alternative to the incumbent government, an impossible scenario with the likes of Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott at the helm.

The evidence being consistent negative press for the past 3 years (or longer)?
As a British worker, I feel far more represented by what I have seen and heard from Corbyn then by anything the Tories have (or mostly haven't) said.

As for links being widely known, they've been blown out of proportion by a government supporting press so as to create a feeling of fear among potential voters.

I'm more concerned about an actual Tory councillor was was an ACTUAL member of the IRA and trying to kill as many British people as she could.
I'm also concerned about all the secret and other meetings attended by government and others from all parties which haven't been made into news 30 or 40 years later for propaganda purposes.

It's called dragging the dirt on your opponents.

Still at least we have a sense of balance with the shadow cabinet thanks to Diane Abbott "Every defeat of the British state is a victory for all of us" you couldn't fu cking make it up

but I could never vote for Corbyn because he is a republican and anti- British and supports the IRA.

I can't vote for any of them they are all unsuited to the job.

Diane Abbott is (in every way possible) Corbyn's biggest mistake.

- In 2008 it was revealed that the UK government maintained a secret back channel to talk with the IRA for two decades all the way from 1973 and 1993.
- From 1997 onward Tony Blair's government conducted negotiations with the IRA that eventually led to the Good Friday Agreement, the power-sharing deal and the successful deescalation of the troubles. During this process Tony Blair had secret talks with the IRA in 1999.
- In 2010 an Tory peer called David James openly admitted that he had a history of secretly laundering money for the IRA. He still sits in the unelected House of Lords as a Tory peer!.....'

Facts the people you mention were in power at the time. What Jeremy Corbyn said or thought was irrelevant. Still if he thinks it does some good I'll happily pay or his airfare to go to Syria to reason with ISIS

Corbyn needs a reality check, the IRA caused great harm on innocent people, to refuse to condemn the bleeding obvious is putting ideology before reality.

Given how long ago it was will the IRA mean anything to young voters or that Corbyn held talks with them ?
