Nowadays dna evidence should more or less rule out any miscarriages such as those referred to earlier and therefore i'd be happy to see the death penalty reintroduced.It would without doubt reduce the number of criminals both carrying and using guns and knives.

Something else to consider is that juries may be less likely to convict if a guilty verdict means the death penalty. In fact, they may be less able to convict if the bar is set higher to guard against a miscarriage of justice.
