He was DJing in a club in Aya Napa in 99. I went up and spoke to him and he sounded exactly the same as his 70s character. Maybe its something he does for fans but it was like being in a Starsky & Hutch scene. He was talking in crazy rhymes, a bit like Will I Am does now but this took me back to my childhood. A great guy and he even signed my t-shirt for me.
Mr Granger had been appearing at the Bradford Alhambra, and was staying at the Victoria Hotel where I drank at the time. A bit of a miserable git tbh. I preferred my encounter with Ediie Large at a Bradford casino.

I never met Stewart Granger, Kenny, so I couldn't say. I won't be a name dropper, but there were some very famous people there that night, and I met many others at other times, but in the case of Mr Peck, it was almost like you could feel his presence. I did get to have a little chat with him and I have to say it was the nearest I've ever been to being starstruck!

I walked past him in a casino I was working in as he went into the restaurant, johnny, apparently he was there for a Backgammon tournament. OK, just 1 more. I once had a pint with Christopher Walken, just me and him. Very nice bloke, but still not the "aura" of Gregory Peck".

That bloke with the white gloves, monocle and boater who used to park his bike by the roundabout in Worthing and walk out in front of cars to swear at the drivers.
There was another bloke around the same time who used to stand in the middle of the road by the clocktower in Brighton directing the traffic, but he definitely lacked the Worthing bloke's charisma (though not his vocabulary).

STUDY, Mr Peck would always be my favourite if I had met him, I'm sure. I spent nearly all my time, regrettably in a Bradford casino from about 76 to 98. They used to get lots of well known people in and I chatted to a good few. Gerry Marsden and Bill Maynard were particularly pleasant.

I worked in quite a few casinos, mostly in the 80's but a bit in the 90's and in 2003 too, Kenny. Mostly in London, but also the provinces and for a few months in America, some of the famous people I met were really nice, ordinary decent people. One or 2 were a bit boring, a few were arshooles. They weren't all actors, there were sportspeople, business people, writers, politicians, even royals (other country's royals) But Gregory Peck was just different to the rest. I can't explain what it was about him.

In a similar vein Donny, a few years back I met a mate of mine for a few drinks and a game of pool in a pub in Oxshott. The pub was practically empty until a guy walked in and put 50p on the pool table. I looked up and it was Jimmy White. He was great fun and we stayed there most of the evening. My mate actually beat him in one frame and he still bangs on about it to this day. Jimmy was great fun, wouldn't allow us to buy any drinks and took us for a curry afterwards.

Derek Thompson once barged into a taxi I was sharing from Darlington station to Sedgefield.
He was everything like he is on TV.
He got his own taxi back.
