An investigation is under way after a man was shot and killed by police during a pre-planned operation on the M62 motorway in Huddersfield.
Police said the incident was not terrorism-related, adding that there had been five arrests, three at the scene and two in a “related stop” of another vehicle in Bradford. |

Probably to do with the shooting of a police car in Bradford on Xmas day. Could be. I think there was an Audi involved in both incidents ? |

Have the Police named anyone yet wanted in connection with the Yorkshire shooting?
I wouldn't be surprised if the man they were looking for was named Younus Raymond Geoffrey Fred Vaughany Bairstow Rashid. |

Family and friends say Yasser Yaqub, 28, left, who has a young daughter, was gunned down by police marksmen on the motorway's sliproad at 6pm last night. Firearms officers in six unmarked vehicles hemmed in a Mercedes E Class, a Jaguar, a VW Scirocco and an Audi at junction 24 of the M62 (bottom right) before opening fire.
Three bullet holes can be seen in the windscreen of the white Audi on its driver's side, which also had four sets of keys left on its bonnet at the scene today (main picture). A force spokesman said: 'West Yorkshire Police can confirm the operation related to information received about criminal possession of a firearm'. Tearful family and friends gathered outside his parents' house in Huddersfield today, hugging as they left flowers and cards (top right). Friend Leanne Astin wrote on Facebook: 'You were no angel but you were still one of the good guys and did not deserve this'. Mr Yaqub was put on trial in 2010 accused of attempting to murder two people in a drive-by shooting in 2009 but was acquitted when the case collapsed. - Daily Mail. Seems an odd one. Why shoot him in his car? |
|
By:
depends on the circumstances. If he wasn't prepared to come out of the car or was brandishing a weapon then they may have had little option.

You drive about with a group and a pistol you are going to get shot on site if you don't give up and start waving pistol about ( if that happened )
I wonder if we will have marches throughout the UK for the fallen victim |

Facts is consistent always defending men with certain distinctive names.
He's also easily offended. Anybody criticising his beloved religion of peace is immediately branded as a racist. |

Mail calling him a drug dealer. 10 cctv cameras on his house does seem a tad over zealous.

Normal rubbish spewing out about him, didn't deserve this etc.
Feck these criminals. Carry a gun and you're effectively committing suicide. |
