By:
Sex Pistols, no not really. although all 4 got credited
By:
REM spring straight to mind (drummer wrote 'Everybody Hurts'
Possibly Fleetwood Mac (Nicks/Buckingham years) |
By:
Pink Floyd. Must be lots more. Crosby, Stills & Nash; The Byrds, maybe?
By:
MEM, hadn't thought of them. Can they all write songs, I mean invidually . very unusual to have 4 who can do that such as with Queen.
By:
*REM
By:
No I don't mean individual songwriters who come together to form a supergroup
Pink Floyd roger waters could not write songs |
By:
OK, without having to look it up, did Nick Mason write songs? And although not the best songs ever written Ringo did write
By:
No mason did not write, and waters could not write songs, just lyrics
By:
I'd argue that point lfc
By:
Cream
By:
All four original members of 10CC wrote songs individually and in combination with each other.
I think all members of The Eagles wrote for the band too. (The Eagles of course, not 10CC ) |
By:
Who were in cream again ? the guitarist his names slipped me, 2 songs in his entire career. Who else in cream?.. ah clapton, couldn't write songs
By:
There were only 2 members of 10cc so in fairness they are no really the same thing
By:
without bothering to check, I would think The Eagles might be in with a shout
By:
Jack bruce & Ginger baker
By:
Eagles may well be true
By:
neither Bruce or baker could write songs, in fact no one in cream could
By:
There were only 2 members of 10cc so in fairness they are no really the same thing
What?? Explain please. |
By:
I would have to check 10cc but in essence I think they were 2 songwriters
By:
The Moody Blues
There main line up was Justin Hayward,John Lodge,Mike Pinder,Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge. All five wrote some exceptional songs. All five could sing as well. |
By:
not really s group in the classic sense of the rock group, the Beatles set the template for that
By:
neither Bruce or baker could write songs, in fact no one in cream could
Are you sure? |
By:
Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were the original members of 10cc and all wrote songs for the band.
By:
Hadn't thought of the middy blues Wilde, would be a possibility
By:
Fair enough, I had only remembered godley and creme
By:
Would have thought 10cc and Eagles.
By:
Des pond I am sure that neither ginger baker, Lenny Bruce or Clapton could write songs
By:
Who wrote their songs, then?
![]() |
By:
Looking through The Eagles back catalogue, their albums include tracks written by Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, Don Felder, Randy Meisner, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt along with JD Souther and Jackson Browne.
By:
Graham Gouldman's songwriting credits, even away from 10cc, are surprisingly staggering
By:
Bruce, Baker and Clapton are all given song-writing credits on various Cream albums.
By:
Also, this thread should classify songwriting input as opposed to songwriting credit (U2, anyone)
Lots of groups have equal membership credit, even though equal writing was varied. |
By:
A lot of reworkings of old blues songs, I guess, like the Stones, but some of it was written by Clapton et al. Unless I'm mistaken.
By:
Jack Bruce was the main song writer for Cream.
Ginger Baker was an out an out passenger. 10cc had some terrible records but they had four members who could write songs. |
By:
Just noticed that poet Pete Brown wrote the lyrics for some of their biggest hits. So, I back down, somewhat.

By:
technically all 4 members of Slade wrote their own but Dave Hill's was when they were Ambrose Slade, when they changed to Slade he only did album tracks and B sides.
By:
May as well add Genesis - pretty sure you can add all members (even Hackett) as worthy contributors
