Ron - Britain First's leader Jim Dowson called for a "holy war on the streets of Britain".

http://www.politics.co.uk/news/2014/06/19/britain-first-the-violent-new-face-of-british-fascism

Calling for violence against a particular group in society sounds pretty terrorist to me.

Mair's actions were inexcusable. Killing a MP, a wife and a mother in cold blood for political reasons is an act of domestic terrorism.

It's an obviously biased Left Wing piece with Channel 4 in there to boot!

If the groups operated for so long wheres the evidence of violence by them, you can
tell a lot about the article by this comment.

"In effect, Britain First is the far-right version of al-Muhajiroun, the Islamist group led by Anjem Choudary.

The only violence Britain First come across is from muslims, who think it's
unacceptable to protest in largely populated muslim areas of Britain - the muslims do the assaulting which
normally leads to the Police arresting Britain First activists

I agree Ron...it is always the so called anti fascists who start the violence

I do not think Thomas Mair is entirely sane myself. But in the world of todays terrorism, he was always going to go down.

I am sorry for Joe Cox.
By:

its a bit stupid trying to ban an organisation because a few nutters
try to use it to cover their idiocy

As the lefties (including plod and MM) are always telling us: "Just a 'Lone gunman' with no links to a terrorist organisation" His real name is probably Zaroon..
By:

donny - it wasn't even clear what Mair shouted, i think there was 3 different versions
of what he shouted...ie keep Britain independent, Put Britain First etc.
But the Media seem to have liked & stuck with the Britain First version.
not that that in itself means he was connected to the party, A bit like someone
shouting out Labour before killing - then automatically the Labour party are to blame.

It suits the Government & MSM's agenda to try & link the killer to Britain First, quite sad
really, similar to when some tried to use her death to promote the Remain campaign

Well, a witness on the stand said he shouted "Britain first. This is for Britain."

I believe there's also a picture of him alongside other white men behind a Britain First banner.

Yes & if you remember that picture PP.

it looked like he'd just turned up on the day / gatecrashed
Why would he be in the middle of the said photo in normal clothing?

Not sure what your point is PP, how many proven Britain First killers has there been in the
past?

Anything to back up the "just in the wrong place at the wrong time and standing behind the wrong banner" line? Jesus, desperate much.

My point is a witness under threat of perjury said he shouted "Britain First", he was also photoed behind a "Britain First" banner. Not saying they've set him up exactly but it's pretty obvious it played a part in his head to do what he did.
By:

Is there even proof it was the killer in the photo?
Some links say it resembled Thomas Mair.

Is this really him do you think?

One witness was adamant he did not shout "Britain First"
By:

i think it influenced him , but not in the way they intended

he was iinto all sorts of groups not just this one by the court evidence

they could ban britain first, but a new group would form
and the publicity would be a godsend for them

Britain First are not promoting violence in anyway,

They are a patriotic party, & as they say anyone from any culture is welcome to join so they
certainly are not a racist party.

guinnessConfused You're going to have to explain that one I'm afraid.

Ron - did that witness take to the stand and say that? Genuine q, I don't know the answer. Apart from that you're clinging on to the slim possibility that it might not be him. Jesus, really?

You've started by saying the media made up that he shouted Britain First and now that's been shot down in flames you're going with the mistaken identity angle.

Why so defensive? I'm not proposing that Britain First are culpable of murder. I do think they're culpable of stirring up racial hatred though they need to get in the queue there frankly and even if he wasn't a fan of them he  wouldn't have had to go too far to find a sympathetic ear to his politics. Unfortunately, there are some sick, sick people out there who are capable of going much further than normal people with their fantasies and if they're susceptible to hateful ideologies or have been damaged when young then it can lead to pretty terrible actions.
By:
Ron-Russian
When: 25 Nov 16 22:37
There was 3 witness versions of what he supposedly shouted PP,

I never followed the trial but was it proven somehow that the witness that said he
shouted Britain First was right & the other two were obviously mistaken in what they heard?

Cases like Thomas Mair are a drop in the ocean compared to the real problem that government
won't address.

How would you weigh the evidence of someone taking the stand and giving their evidence under oath against someone not doing the same?

I know it doesn't suit your agenda but I am giving you ample room here to not make yourself look a bigoted idiot.

Thomas Mair repeatedly shot and stabbed Cox in an attack during the EU referendum campaign in June. While attacking her he was saying: “This is for Britain”, “keep Britain independent”, and “Britain first”, the court heard.

& that's from the @rse wipe The Guardian

ron you know i like you but you are as thick as pig sh1t Laugh

you hate the mayor of london yet it was him who proposed mandatory standards for speaking/writing english language in the london private hire industry. he also proposes that phv drivers have hire and reward insurance. both pretty basic you would have thought but neither proposed  by the tories.

if a muslim terrorist launches an attack in london its 1.01 you will blame khan.

i actually dont think mair deserves a whole term sentence. someone like stepehn port as a sexual predator i doubt could ever be reformed but mair looks like a simpleton to me. 20/25 years in prison with guidance and my guess is he would pose no threat to the rest of society.
By:

he was unwell, he had sought help before.

he probably should be in some secure unit not prison

killing an mp must attract a high tariff sentence, as with police and forces

but he didnt get any sort of defence and i guess it will, in time, be appealed,

not that he should be out on the street any time soon.

I never followed the case donny.

but i remember them mentioning mental health as a possible reason after he killed Jo.

was this eliminated as a possible reason?
