this ridiculous argument put forward by some pundits and thornberry that corbyns got a similar profile with a huge popular following, corbyn may have had a few 100 thousand leftie luvies join the party but over 9 million lab our voters ignored the party and voted for brexit, labour will get wiped out at the next election whilst they continue to ignore the reasons why people voted for brexit and trump, the only bandwagon tied to the labour party is the one leaving town, why cant they grasp it

if brexit is done and dusted by 2020 election then corbyn
will be fighting on a different battleground

if brexit leads to more hardship the tories will be struggling
despite having delivered brexit

churchill was voted out after the war ...

corbyn on 27% which is about what trump got ....

what would the tv media and the guardian do

both lots hate the pair of them - they don't fit in the agenda

they usually do well in first vote but not in the run off

the french reckon they vote with their heart in first election
and with their head in run off

still interesting to see what happens after the few years the french
have had

1st time poster the French system does not favour Le Pen it is similar in a way to their army, starts out quite brash and brave at the first trench but then retreats and surrenders.

The media are under estimating Le Pen's appeal, she has battled the establishment for many years and recent events will convince a lot of people she has been proved right about unlimited immigration. The current government denial has to change or she will be a shoo in.

understand the perceived wisdom is the french electoral system makes it difficult for le pen to win but surely the liberal elite have failed the french people more than in any major western democracy ?

I agree, sir, but you should also include Germany right up there with France.  Its citizens have suffered terribly as well.
