why haven't I seen that Andrew Neil video before ? I'm stunned.
Didn't have him down as an open-minded free-thinking realist. And how did that rant manage to slip through the sticky net of the BBC's PC filter ? |

Paris Syndrome - many years ago the Japanese started using this to describe the feeling of extreme disappointment that tourists experienced upon discovering that Paris was well below expectations!!

It's hard to believe a race of people as tough as the Japanese go into a 'Syndrome' over a bit of disappointment. FFS I'm disappointed every day. Just look at my BF P/L. What's happening to the world? Everyone is such a baby these days. I can't imagine my Dad going into 'Paris Syndrome' just because he discovered it was a sh1thole. He'd just laugh about it. Then he'd swim the Channel and bowl out England at Lords for 87 then snatch Jean Shrimpton off that weedy little girl Mick Jagger and drive her in his E-Type over to Twickenham so she could watch him score four tries for the Wallabies against the pasty faces. No crying on social media about Paris Syndrome.

What on earth do the honest, hard-working, patriotic citizens of Paris have to do be able to live in a city where they might be able to go 6 months without being gunned down indiscriminately (by Peace-Loving Cultural Enrichers), or not have to step around Illegal Immigrants every time they walk down a boulevard?
Who is standing up for law and order in Paris? Or the entire continent of Europe for that matter? |

Why do some Japanese people suffer from Paris syndrome on first coming to Europe? Well they are charming and reticent people, their ladies are sweet and beautiful and the Japanese have proper rules for getting along. They had no conception of Paris, they observe all around them and they start to shake, and sometimes have to report to the Japanese embassy.
And who can blame them? For them Paris is practically unbearable. What's wrong dear chit chatters you may ask and what would they make of Australians? nothing at all nothing at all That is a question that will remain nicely unanswered. |

Around 20 Japenese tourists per year get Paris syndrome hardly worth worrying about.
