A judge who called a racist defendant βa bit of a c***β in court is being investigated after people apparently complained about her language.
Judge Patricia Lynch QC was sentencing 50-year-old John Hennigan at Chelmsford Crown Court for his ninth breach of an ASBO in 11 years, when he called her a βbit of a c***β in the dock.
The QC responded: βYou are a bit of a c*** yourself. Being offensive to me does not help.β
When Hennigan shouted back βGo f*** yourself!β she replied: βYou too.β
She then jailed him for 18 months for racially abusing a black Caribbean mother in Harlow, Essex.

It's a breath of fresh air to hear a story like this being reported, and fair play to her. I thought it was a great reply. |

Her colleagues should take a leaf out of her book.
How many times have we read stories where a judge has let a paedo off because a nine year old girl has dressed provocatively? Or other such ludicrous rulings? The whole profession needs bringing into the 21st century. |

She was merely treating him with contempt.
Her final comment of "We're all impressed, take him down" was excellent. She made him look like the tw4t he is. |

i disagree with this judge`s behaviour . Its quite a precedent she has set herself and will she be inclined to maintain it, regardless of the nationality and religion and race of the defendent.
It would be interesting to know. |

If i should hear of just such a case, whereby this judge, or even any British judge should use such language when the defendent is not British, white christian? ..

i have no idea, i know certainly that only white British christian defendents are capable of such appalling behaviour.

but make no mistake the precedent has been set for British judges, we do not expect anything less in future. all defendents must receive the same intemperate response, even those who may not be British and white and christian.
lets see who is the next example. |

But she cannot use that sort of language herself in court, She could have fined him for contempt of court for using that language, and then herself We do need some rules here |

There are rules, they are important Otherwise we would just end up with people just slanging each other in court whenever they feel like it, Using this as a precedent. |

Probably the wrong words to use but at least a judge who seems to understand the level of response you sometimes have to use back to those standing in the dock in words they will comprehend

Had a quick run through the relevant sections in the Judicial Conduct Rules and don't think she has a case to answer.

She was very calm and controlled. He was acting like the idiot he is and shouting and banging on the glass screen he was behind. As an aside have a look at him and his history. The lowest of the low. |
